Robert Booker Robert Booker 6'7" | PF Waunakee | 2024 WI – 2024 – PF – Wisconsin Academy
Kid that’s just getting better and better with time, Booker did a lot of good things against Team Ten Jabari Parker in a high-level contest. The Waunkaee freshman is a bruising, physical forward who can mix it up as a finesse big. Booker is gaining confidence as a ball handler and shooter from outside the paint. The 6-foot-7 forward is also a terrific passer from the high post or top of the key. Has a ways to go skills-wise, but you see plenty of flashes down on the block and array of post moves he’s capable of. One of the bigger risers in the next rankings update, Booker is going to move into the top 20 and is probably not done.
Termarion Brumby Termarion Brumby 6'1" | CG Racine Case | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Wisconsin Rise
6-foot-1 guard with some length. Brumby is a two-way player that was quite impactful in a variety of ways. Brumby is a smooth ball handler and driver. Brumby plays low to the ground and has some noticeable explosion on film. The freshman is pretty shifty and strong, able to knife through traffic. On the other end, Brumby understands positional defense. He did an excellent job of getting into the gaps when a teammate was beaten and putting a drive to a halt or often anticipating the next pass and getting his hand on the basketball.
Quinn Burns Quinn Burns 5'9" | PG Westosha Central | 2024 State WI – 2024 – PG – World Hoops Elite
The more I watch Burns, the more I like him. This kid can absolutely go with the basketball. Burns is an undersized point guard, but he’s got plenty of speed and juice on the ball. Using a quick first step, Burns has strong blow-by ability and the tools to finish in a variety of ways around the rim. Burns has range too. He’s a threat to pull-up and hit from 3-point range, forcing defenders to pick their poison. Despite his size, Burns doesn’t feel like a defensive liability. He did well guarding players that were a few inches bigger and certainly had some strength on him. A playmaker on both ends, Burns is just one of those guys that’s always in the right place at the right time and shows up on film a lot, covering up defensive mistakes.
Carter Combs – 2024 – PG – Milwaukee Trailblazers
Combs is a point guard that plays with really good pace. He handles pressure well and can break down defenses off the dribble. Though Combs was really good at getting two feet in the paint, drawing help defenders, and finding the open man. An excellent ball handler, Combs keeps his head up and his dribble alive until he’s ready to make a play. In the waning moments, he took matters into his own hands. With the Trailblazers leading by a bucket, Combs drove hard, spun, and finished with his left hand to get his team some breathing room. Combs then had the final points of the game from the foul line in a two-point victory.
Tim Franks Tim Franks 6'5" | SG Homestead | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Chapman Basketball Academy
Franks already has an advanced versatile skillset for his age. Like how he’s able to use his 6-foot-4 frame and take guys down on the block. He can also score fading away from the bucket. Franks is also an exceptional rebounder on both ends. Trailing by 10 at half, Franks got CBA back into the game with a couple putbacks. He’s a shot maker, but Franks plays with a noticeable unselfishness. Not a guy that’s gonna come up the floor and chuck. He takes what the defense gives him and also works really hard off the ball to get open jumpers, rim-runs, or back-cuts.
Nolan Minessale Nolan Minessale 6'5" | SF Marquette | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SF – Chapman Basketball Academy
Minessale has some good positional size. The 6-foot-3 wing is a slashing wing with some quality length as well. Thought his touch in traffic seemed pretty advanced for his age. Minessale can rip and get to the rim with limited dribbles. Against the Milwaukee Trailblazers he did a nice job floating the ball up and avoiding charges. When contact came, Minessale didn’t shy away and was able to finish while taking a bump. A prospect that can also space the floor from 3-point range, Minessale had a pretty good surge in the second half to help his team nearly overcome a 10-point deficit. Still working on the class of 2024 rankings, which will expand to 50, but think there’s a spot for Minessale.
Cody Schmitz Cody Schmitz 6'4" | SG Gale Ettrick-Trempeleau | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Playmakers Showcase
Prospect I like a lot and think he deserves to stay in the top 25. A sharpshooter with good positional size (6-3), Schmitz can knock down shots off the dribble and off screens. Could dial it down a bit, but Schmitz is also a terrific threat in transition. If he sees an opportunity to attack early in possessions, Schmitz will get coast-to-coast with the basketball and does draw a good amount of fouls.
M.J. Stackhouse M.J. Stackhouse 6'7" | PF Kenosha Indian Trail | 2024 State WI – 2024 – PF – World Hoops Elite
Prospect that’s caught my attention quite a bit on film, Stackhouse is a budding post prospect. The 6-foot-6 freshman is versatile, skilled, and able to play inside and out. He’s still a little raw, but you see some real mismatch potential from the Kenosha Indian Trail product. Stackhouse can play with his back to the basket, space the floor a bit as a shooter, or flash to the top of the key and just go to work. Stackhouse also runs the floor really well for his size and will even take it coast-to-coast himself if needed.
Alex Trotter – 2024 – PG – Pride Roc
Good things happened with Trotter touched the ball during a win over Playmakers Showcase. The freshman guard gets his guys moving and creates a lot of offense for his team. Trotter is a really good decision maker in the pick n’ roll. He knows when to accept and reject screens and reads defenders well. Trotter looks to have some three-level scoring ability and knows to maneuver around traffic to generate clean looks at the rim.
