Sophomore season often permits players from small schools to make a name for themselves a little earlier than those from big schools. Last season saw several members of the Class of 2023 earn post-season honors, particularly in the lower classifications.

The latest adjustment to the Class of 2023 rankings reflects that fact. A few players caught the eye of Prep Hoops in the spring tournaments. But 2023s from bigger schools will have more of the spotlight this summer.

Avery Johnson Avery Johnson 6'2" | CG Maize | 2023 State KS (pictured) was rewarded for leading Maize to the 5A state title with a nice bump in the rankings. Kobe Smith Kobe Smith 6'1" | CG Wichita Southeast | 2023 State KS and Cameron Carr Cameron Carr 5'10" | CG Manhattan | 2023 State KS improved their rankings at the top of the list, where movement isn’t easily accomplished. See how high those three climbed.

Easton Ewing Easton Ewing 6'6" | PF Independence | 2023 State KS , an all-state player from Independence, rocketed up the list. Take a look at where he landed.

This is the first update of the Kansas 2023 Player Rankings since March 8, 2021. Stay tuned for articles about highest risers and new additions to the list.
