We start off with the Stock Risers:
Garrett Anderson Garrett Anderson 6'7" | SF Phhoenix Prep | 2022 State AZ Phheonix Prep
-One of the most athletic forwards in the state put on a show during the 4 days. His high-wire act was breathtaking at times, as he is graceful in the air with impressive body control. He can hit the deep-3 and handles it fairly well. He gets downhill easily and surprisingly uses his left hand well. The stud baseball pitcher grew a full foot since freshman year and almost 2 inches recently and his best ball is clearly ahead of him. He will re-class to ’22.
Tanti Felli Tanti Felli 6'7" | PF Phoenix Country Day | 2022 State AZ PCD
-A long forward can handle it a little and defend many positions on the floor. He can create his own shot and get into the lane and throw it down with nice body control. He gobbles up anything near him and will challenge oncoming players to try and block their shots. He can rip though with a nice burst with his left or right hand and is a quick second jumper. He has a decent stroke from the 3 and can pull-up from mid-range.
Garrison Sherman Garrison Sherman 6'7" | SF Scottsdale Christian Academy | 2022 State AZ SCA (Pictured right)
-Another long wing who keeps getting a little better. His confidence is high with his shooting and handle is turning the corner. He can hit from the 3 with range and is clever using ball fakes. He has the mid game and can drive it to the rim. His IQ is still high to make plays, as he grew up with the ball in his hands more. He was showing a motor and grabbing out of area rebounds and should be a POY candidate in 2A.
Braden Wales Braden Wales 6'7" | C Scottsdale Christian Academy | 2022 State AZ SCA (Pictured left)
-The long and strong post player looked good. He is one of the better rebounder and shot blockers in 2A and moves well up the court. He plays football and brings that physicality to the court inside the paint. He can clean the glass, score it inside and he actually stepped out and hit a 3, which I didn’t know he had in his game.
Myles Hersha Myles Hersha 6'9" | C SoAZ Vols | 2022 State AZ SoAZ Volz
-Another player that will re-class to ’22 is slowly filling in his body. He was always very lean but is showing the promise we thought he could have. He has good size, length and skill. He moves well up the court and showed off his improvement. He had the mid-range jumper clicking plus he can fall away from his defender. He can extend it out to the 3pt line and work inside with hook shots and flush it down. He tracks the ball to block shots and rebound. His stock is way up.
Jaylen Wesley Jaylen Wesley 6'4" | PF McClintock | 2022 State AZ McClintock
-Arguably the strongest player in the AIA pound for pound is a tough handle. Tock has been hanging with every team in the state this summer mainly because of Wesley’s tenacity on the glass. He won’t wow you with his size or jumping ability, but he has long arms and simply outworks his opponents for any edge he can gain. From rebounding position, getting one step on his defender and then scoring it and he started to branch out to the perimeter and shoot the 3 or just rip through. His glass work is unreal to watch with his strength and soft hands.
Davis Hester Davis Hester 6'0" | SG Liberty | 2023 State AZ Liberty
The rising junior has a clip. He torched the nets this Spring in AAU season and has continued it in summer ball. He is a little skinny but he moves well and can defend on the perimeter. His 3pt stroke is very steady. He is mainly off the catch but has a quick release and him and Caden Hunter Caden Hunter 6'5" | PF Liberty | 2023 State AZ will be a tough 2023 tandem next season.
