Continue ReadingHere we will be taking a look at some of the 2023 players who will be looking to take the reigns of their high school programs this June. Filling new and larger roles, transferring in to new schools, and/or or developing their games this spring and bringing a new edge to their programs, these guys are names to watch.
Eli Shetlar Eli Shetlar 6'4" | SG Andover | 2023 State KS , 6’4 SG, Andover: Shetlar has had a huge spring expanding his game from just the elite shooter he was last season, into a more well rounded guard with some more height and length to him now. He was recently named to the third team all tournament at the Grind Region Memorial Classic. He will be entering June with Andover looking to set the tone as one of the back court leaders coming off of a 8.8 point and 3.3 rebound per game season as a sophomore.
Zion Young Zion Young 6'2" | CG Life Prep | 2023 State KS , 6’2 Guard, Campus: He averaged 5.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists as a sophomore playing an important role behind a couple of big time names last season. Young has the athletic tools and skill to fill in the roles left behind by Strong Jr and Chapman. Young has showed his ability this spring, thriving in transition, being explosive with the ball, and knocking down more shots from the perimeter.
Jack Bachelor Jack Bachelor 6'0" | CG Washburn Rural | 2023 State KS , 6’1 Guard, Washburn Rural (Pictured): Bachelor continues to improve his game this spring, going on a tremendous run being a key member of a really talented Marcus Denmon squad. Bachelor will have plenty of opportunities this high school season with a much bigger role to play in the success of Washburn Rural and it will be intriguing to see what this June looks like for him accepting those responsibilities for the first time with the high school group. He has the swagger, game, and toughness to be a prime player in the Centennial League.
Jace Steinmetz Jace Steinmetz 6'3" | SG Garden City High Scool | 2023 KS , 6’4 SG, Garden City: Blowing up this spring playing with SSA 2023 Black, Steinmetz has tremendous size at the guard spot. The guard has a smooth jumper out on the perimeter that he gets off on the catch and shoot or off the bounce. Plays off two feet well in the paint and under control on drives. Erupted for multiple 20+ point games this spring against some pretty top notch opponents and shot it at a really high level. Should jump on to the varsity scene with Garden City in a big way this June.
