Read below for the Top A players in 2023:
#5 Darik Dissette Darik Dissette 6'4" | SG Minot | 2023 State #300 Nation ND |6-3 G| Minot/ND Attack – All WDA last season. 2nd Team All-State. State Champion Runner-up. My favorite part of his game is his long, explosive, and low first step. Darik excels at blowing past defenders. Dissette has been excellent in AAU this spring. He is getting buckets in the post, and slashing to the rim at will. I love his ability on defense on and off the ball. Dissette will be one of the best in the WDA next year and will be one of the front-runners for the All-State Team.
#8 Ethan Manock Ethan Manock 6'4" | PF Wahpeton | 2023 State ND |6-4 F| Wahpeton – He is a very powerful forward that moves great. Ethan is a dominant force in the lane and on the block. He can also shoot it consistently from 15-feet with a soft touch. Manock will be one of the best rebounders in North Dakota next year. He is a sure-fire double-double player. Ethan really made some noise this past season with thunderous dunks and high-flying put-back slams. His strength, size, and explosiveness must have college coaches drooling over him.
#10 Alex Dvorak Alex Dvorak 6'1" | PG Dickinson | 2023 State ND |6-0 G| Dickinson/ND Attack – All WDA last season. Dvorak been impressive in AAU this spring. His scoring is always there and he has been tough with on-ball defense. Alex can completely take over a game with his scoring, quickness, and smarts. Dvorak will be in the upper echelon of guards across North Dakota. He gets hot in a hurry and can stay that way. Alex is skilled with the ball in his hands and he can create his own shot. He can also be a playmaker and set up his teammates. Look for Alex to continue to improve his game over the summer. I see Dvorak as an All-State type player next year.
12# Zach Kraft Zach Kraft 6'2" | PG Grand Forks Red River | 2023 State ND |6-0 G| Grand Forks Red River/ECI – He is my favorite shooter in the 2023 class. Zach is a 3-point assassin. His shot is very smooth and soft. Kraft has a quick release, but it never seems like he hurries his shot. I like the fact that his shot looks the same when he is wide open compared to shooting with a hand in his face. He shoots it with great confidence and poise. Outside of being a high-level shooter, he is also a gifted dribbler and passer. He has good eyes on defense and anticipates the next pass. I believe Zach is poised for a huge year in 2021-2022. He has the skills and gifts to be a top-level player in Class-A.
#18 Houston Davis Houston Davis 6'4" | SF Turtle Mountain | 2023 State ND |6-2 F| Turtle Mountain – He had a good year as a youngster in the WDA this past season. I see him as one of the better scorers next season. Davis will also be a high-level rebounder. I like his versatility and his ability to play multiple positions. Depending on his matchup he can spread the floor with shooting or get into the lane off the bounce. Davis also has solid moves in the post to take advantage of smaller or slower defenders. The game comes naturally to him and Davis makes it look easy.
#26 Reis Rowekamp Reis Rowekamp 6'4" | SG Grand Forks Red River | 2023 State ND |6-2 G| Grand Forks Red River – He looks to have put on some weight and muscle since the high school season. Reis has a year of varsity experience under the belt, so he should come into EDC play with confidence. Reis is reliable with consistent shot-making ability. With Red River having solid players all over the court he should get single coverage all year. He will have the ability to go off for 20+ points on any given night season.
#32 Logan Arason Logan Arason 6'4" | PF Grand Forks Red River | 2023 State ND |6-3 F| Grand Forks Red River – He is a flexible player that can do work down low or from midrange. He is a capable passer that does not force shots. Logan is a strong player that does the little things. He works hard and finishes through contact.
#37 Carter Byron Carter Byron 6'7" | PF Grand Forks Red River | 2023 State ND |6-5 F| Grand Forks Red River – A hard worker and skilled rebounder. He seems to be a hard and effective screener. Carter has the potential to be a very tough matchup in the screen-and-roll game. He is a fleet-footed and strong big man.
#38 Malaki Sik Malaki Sik 6'3" | SF Williston | 2023 State ND |6-3 F| Williston/ECI – He is a superb athlete with length and bounce. Hooping with ECI will help his game. Sik has a nice 15-foot pull-up jumper. He has the ability to be an elite defender. His motor can go on for days it seems. I like his potential and the fact that he can play multiple positions.
#40 Tahrye Frank Tahrye Frank 6'0" | SG Mandan | 2023 State ND |6-0 G| Mandan/ND Phenom – He is a very physically strong player. This makes him a physical and tough defender. Frank has the potential to be a lockdown perimeter defender. He is good at penetrating gaps and getting into the paint. Tahrye can hit the open perimeter jump-shot as well. Look for him to be a major contributor for the Braves next season.
