A bunch of players from the class of 2022 made huge leaps and bounds during their first year of being considered an “upperclassman” and they will look to continue their uphill trajectory during their senior seasons of basketball. Continue reading for a look at the top stock risers from the class of 2022 rankings update.
Mikey Lloyd Mikey Lloyd 6'4" | SG Jerome | 2022 State ID , Jerome: Mikey made a huge jump from #29 to #5 during the most recent rankings thanks to a conference player of the year nod during the prior season. Mikey is a complete scorer that can shoot from anywhere inside of the gym. Lloyd is a force at the rim and routinely finishes through contact before knocking down the accompanying free throw. He is also a great shooter from mid-range and uses a pull up jumper to catch defenders off balance. On defense, Mikey competes hard and locks down the opposing team’s best players.
Joe Reiber Joe Reiber 6'2" | SG Melba | 2022 State ID , Melba: Joe also made a major jump from #32 to #6 after receiving his own conference player of the year honor. The lefty is a tough cover for teams of all divisions and classifications. From outside, he is a deadly shooter who feels like he is always open and can knock down a deep three from anywhere past half court. At the rim, Reiber finishes really well and can also stop short for a nice floater or mid-range step back. Good luck covering Joe!
DJ Green DJ Green 5'10" | PG McCall-Donnelly | 2022 State ID , McCall-Donnelly: Green went from being an unranked player to holding the #7 spot in the latest rankings update. DJ had a terrific showing at the state tournament in March and he will look to carry his hot streak into next season for McCall-Donnelly. Green is a tough cover when he bullies his way to the basket and many teams struggle to stop him from scoring at will. Green has been improving his three pointer and this addition could be deadly for his opponents.
