2021 Rankings Update – Newcomers Part 1
Roy Butler Roy Butler 5'11" | PG Wayne Memorial | 2021 State MI (PG, Wayne Memorial)
If this past season wasn’t shortened due to covid, this is a name I think you would have heard much more often. Butler is efficient on the offensive end and a quick footed defender that has a knack for creating turnovers. He’s an excellent leader that teammates respect and follow.
Larry DeDallis Larry DeDallis 6'2" | SG Cardinal Mooney | 2021 State MI (SG, Cardinal Mooney)
DeDallis is a very interesting prospect. He’s a really solid all around athlete, and without knowing for sure, I would venture to guess that he’s solid in multiple sports. DeDallis moves smoothly in all directions on the basketball court.
Javaughn Kuykendoll Javaughn Kuykendoll 6'7" | PF Benton Harbor | 2021 State MI (PF, Benton Harbor)
I loved watching this young man play. To be perfectly honest, he wasn’t on my radar preseason, but he had my attention very quickly. He’s always a threat for a double-double and is a high percentage finisher at the rim. Kuykendoll is athletic enough to make plays above the rim.
Ahmaryon Rice Ahmaryon Rice SG Center Line | 2021 State MI (SG, Center Line)
This young man is an athletic dynamo. Rice is the kind of player that can pull fans out of their seats. He’s a nasty finisher that can easily finish above the rim. Rice has been underrated for too long, and in all honesty, still probably is. He’s can change the momentum of a game in a flash.
David Rivera David Rivera 5'10" | PG Grand Ledge | 2021 State MI (PG, Grand Ledge)
When scouts and college coaches watched Grand Ledge this season, they were most likely there to see some post talent. But it was Rivera that often stood out as well. He seemed to be the heartbeat of the team. Rivera was quick and speedy on offense and delivered the ball to teammates in scoring positions. He was aggressive and in your face on the defensive end.
