Even late in their high school careers there are players that made a statement as to why they deserved to be ranked, as well as players that probably deserved to be for a while. We will look at some of the notable newcomers to the 2021 Michigan prospect rankings.
Brennan Bargesser Brennan Bargesser 6'2" | SG Grass Lake | 2021 State MI (SG, Grass Lake)
Bargesser belonged on the prospect rankings list a long time ago. The young man is a physical specimen that can outrun, outmuscle, and outwork most of his competition. Bargesser is one of the greatest leaders that you’ll find as well. His positive attitude permeates every team that he’s a part of.
Shainen Carter Shainen Carter 6'8" | C Detroit King | 2021 State MI (C, Detroit King)
Carter is a solid player right now, but he is stock full of high level potential as well. He’s a defensive weapon with his ability to defend in the post and his nose for the ball defensively. Carter has the ability to block a lot of shots on any given night. He has the potential to develop post moves and be a terrific 2 way player.
Michael Guy Michael Guy 6'2" | SG Ida | 2021 State MI (SG, Ida)
Guy is a very underrated guard. He can fly under the radar and still drop 20 on you at any time. Guy is a multi level scorer and a very confident player on offense. He’s unselfish and isn’t afraid to dish the ball off to a teammate that has a better look at the rim. This helps Guy be very efficient on the offensive end.
Brandon Nigh Brandon Nigh CG Bedford | 2021 State MI (CG, Bedford)
Bedford seems to be that squad that sometimes gets overlooked when it comes to quality of the team and the athletes on it. They’ve had some really good teams and players recently, and Nigh continued that trend this past season. He’s a pretty quick guard that can change speeds and frustrate defenders.
Cole Streeter Cole Streeter 6'6" | PF Ann Arbor Skyline | 2021 State MI (PF, Ann Arbor Skyline)
I should have trusted my gut a long time ago. I’ve known about Streeter for a while now and have noticed the influence he has on a game when he steps on the floor. He’s not the tallest or the most incredible athlete, but he’s an absolute grinder. Streeter makes his opponent battle for every point and rebound. He takes high percentage shots on the offensive end and is a physical screener.
