Learic Davis Learic Davis 6'7" | SF Milwaukee Bradley Tech | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G/W – Wisconsin Playground Club
Davis has played really well in some high level contests and drastically improved his stock. It’s easy to like Davis as an athlete. He’s got some scray explosiveness at the rim, long arms, and can play the point guard position at 6-foot-7. What doesn’t get talked about enough is his playmaking and defensive ability. A kid that felt very ‘boom or bust’ early in his career, Davis has shown he’s got value in other ways than just highlight plays. Specifically at Under Armour MDW, loved the way he was dribbling into the paint and finding open guys. He also used his length and athleticism to impact a lot of things on the defensive end. Switching AAU teams in the spring, PGC’s players just wrapped their arms around him quickly and Davis has fight right in, which probably says a lot about his character as a teammate.
Devon Fielding Devon Fielding 6'1" | PG La Crosse Central | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Playmakers South
Fielding recently took an unofficial visit to South Dakota State. At worse, he’s a high priority, potentially game-changing Division 3 prospect. With some newfound athleticism that Fielding showed off in the spring, he’s going to be playing for potential D2 offers in the summer. Fielding has always been a high-IQ floor general that makes others around him better. He’s a strong 3-point shooter that picks his spots really well from deep and doesn’t force. Now that he’s showing more break-you-down ability off the bounce and playing above the rim with ease, he becomes a potential scholarship player at the next level.
Dan Gherezgher Dan Gherezgher 6'1" | SG Brookfield East | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – JH1 Elite
Kid has been playing some ridiculous ball in summer league and we’ll see if that carries over to the AAU circuit. Gherezgher was a breakout player last season for Brookfield East and he’ll get his chance to be ‘the guy’ next season. An explosive and crafty scorer, Gherezgher has a scary isolation package. The lefty knows how to set up defenders and get to his spots on the floor. If a defender doesn’t put a hand up, he’s letting it fly. If not, Gherezgher doesn’t waste time. The 6-foot-2 guard is constantly putting pressure on the defense with hard, purposeful dribbles and forces the defense to send help and stop him. A lanky guard with some pop, Gherezgher catches a lot of people by surprise with his open floor athleticism as well.
Colin Hardrick Colin Hardrick 6'3" | CG Wauwatosa West | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Wisconsin Playground Club
Now that it’s widely known that Hardrick will do a post grad year, think schools have a better idea of where Hardrick is as a prospect. In fact, Grambling State recently made the first offer to the Wauwatosa West standout. Playing down in 16U, Hardrick won’t turn 16 until August. He’s an instant offense-type prospect that just gets the ball and has a knack for putting it in the hole. Coming off a huge spring, Hardrick is a crafty, high-level scorer who can knock down shots from all over the floor. He’s also one of the best finishers in the state. A bouncy lefty that can play above the rim, Hardrick can finish with their hand and also convert after taking a hard shot to his body at the bucket.
Jackson Paveletzke Jackson Paveletzke 6'1" | CG Kimberly | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Phenom University
Just has the type of skillset that kills at the mid-major level, Paveletzke is arguably the most skilled offensive player in the state. If he had traditional positional size, everybody would want him. Paveletzke is still 6-foot-1 with some length and is just incredibly difficult to stop. Paveletzke is constantly moving without the ball and is always ready to score. On the ball, he changes directions and speeds like a pro and has every tool in his bag. Always one step, one move ahead of the defender, Paveletzke operates like a surgeon, usually within the flow of the offense. What makes the Kimberly star even more special is his floor awareness and vision. He’s a guy that can not only get you 30 points any given night, but also 10 assists as well.
Owen Pawlikowski Owen Pawlikowski 6'3" | SG Kimberly | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Wisconsin Crusaders
Think Pawlikowski should be a priority prospect for a lot of Division 2 programs. He excels in three sports and also holds a few D2 football offers. On the hardwood, Saint Leo has offered. The 6-foot-3 wing is a dynamic athlete and one of the best two-way players in the state. He got overlooked as a junior while playing for Kimberly, one of the most stacked teams in the state that also had a lot of seniors. Pawlikowski still started and got about 10 points per game en route to the Papermakers’ run to the D1 state final. Pawlikowski can catch and shoot from deep, slash to the bucket, and is a terrific weapon in transition. Think if/when he starts to focus on one sport, his upside becomes even greater.
Jack Rose Jack Rose 6'5" | SG Westosha Central | 2022 State #213 Nation WI – 2022 – SG – Wisconsin Playground Club
Think Rose is really teetering on the high major level right now. In fact, Maryland pulled the trigger in the spring. The Westosha Central star had mid-major offers from Toledo, George Washington, UW-Milwaukee, and SIUE. Rose may lack high major athleticism, but he makes up for it with a blue collar mentality and a willingness to do anything on the floor it takes to win. Rose is a gritty guard who can also fill it up from all three levels offensively. He’s going to make those scrappy defensive plays and is always the first on the floor for a loose ball. If a high major does take chance here, my gut tells me Rose will find a way to get minutes. If not, he’s still a very strong mid-major prospect who can thrive at that level.
Marcus Tomashek Marcus Tomashek 6'3" | SG Ashwaubenon | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – JH1 Elite
You can never have enough shooters and Tomashek is one of the best in the state, if not the best. The Ashwaubenon star is a deadly sniper that provides an outstanding floor spacing presence. He’s also worked hard to round out his game offensively and use his size (6-4) to do more things off the dribble, including a pretty reliable step-back jumper. Tomashek is also a two-way player and reliable defender on the other end of the floor. He’s reeled in Division 2 offers from the Hillsdale, Michigan Tech, and Minot State. There have also been Division 1 programs calling lately as well.
L.J. Wells L.J. Wells 6'5" | SF Eau Claire Memorial | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SF – Wisconsin Playmakers
Division 2 programs could hit the jackpot if they’re able to develop Wells. Minot State was recently first to pull the trigger on the high-upside wing, who’s just scratching the surface. Wells needs a lot of skill development, but he can handle the ball in the open floor and opens a lot of eyes when he gets a clear path to the rim. The 6-foot-7 junior is an effortless, but explosive leaper to the rim. He can also shoot the ball a bit from outside the paint. A prospect that’s still just scratching the surface, Wells’ best days are still ahead of him.
Max Weisbrod Max Weisbrod 6'1" | CG Deforest | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Wisconsin Swing
Think this is a Division 2 prospect that’s still pretty undervalued. Northern Michigan is the lone offer on the table for the DeForest guard, who led the Norskies to state as a junior. This is the type of prospect you want with the keys to the car. Weisbrod is a high-IQ guard that makes winning plays. A guy that just makes the right play and plays mistake-free basketball, Weisbrod can take carry a team as a scorer or a facilitator. He can beat defenses with skill or brains. On top of all that, he’s got excellent size (6-4) and is a knockdown shooter.
