Let’s take a glance at some of the college decisions and transfers that have happened around the state in the last few weeks.
Pinecrest HS Senior Guard Ian Blue is off the board and headed to William Peace University next season after a solid overall high school career and an outstanding showing at the FAB40 ENC Camp. Blue is a knock down shooter than can make plays off the catch or the bounce, has nice upside and will be a player that has a chance to be very successful on the next level.
Wing prospect Avion Pinner Avion Pinner 6'9" | PF Concord Academy | 2023 State NC recently made the decision to transfer to The Burlington School and reclass to the class of 2023 for next season. Pinner currently holds offers from schools such as ECU and Radford with interest from numerous programs on the Mid-Major & High Major programs. He’s a skilled player that plays the game with a competitive edge and doesn’t back down from any challenge, he’s continued to get stronger each year and will only get better over time.
Another prospect that decided to reclass and transfer was 6’5 Wing Collin Tanner Collin Tanner 6'6" | SF Combine Academy | 2023 State NC who will reclass to 2023 and attend Wayne Country Day. He had an outstanding season last year at SGHS, averaging over 23 points & 7 rebounds per contest, helping SGHS to a 12-4 record and another State tournament appearance.
Class of 2022 Guard Donovan Atwell Donovan Atwell 6'5" | SG Providence Day | 2022 State NC has seen his stock rise over the last few weeks, schools such as UNCG, Boston U, WCU, ETSU and Bucknell have all offered in the last week. Atwell is a sharpshooting Guard that is in the conversation as one of the best shooters in the state and recently made the decision to transfer to Providence Day School for his senior season.
Grays Collegiate picked up one of the better 2022 Guards in the state recently with the addition of Kheni Briggs Kheni Briggs 6'4" | CG The Burlington School | 2022 State NC , a 6’3 strong Guard that currently holds multiple offers from programs on the D1 level. He knocks down shots from all levels, can play through all types of contact and brings the same amount of effort on both ends of the floor consistently.
Southeast Raleigh Senior Ameil Malone recently reopened his recruitment and schools at the JUCO level haven’t wasted any time jumping on board. Schools such as CVCC, FTCC, Pitt CC, CCCC and Sandhills CC have all extended offers for the 6’6 Forward with plenty of potential to be a legit player on the next level and nice prospect for four year programs after he completes his JC time.
