Continue ReadingThis past weekend a good amount of Western Pennsylvania AAU programs participated in a variety of tournaments throughout the state and its border. One of the top AAU programs in the state, PK Flash, participated in the Zero Gravity Mid-Atlantic May Madness Tournament located in Manheim, Pennsylvania. While in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, the Prospects AAU Organization hosted the Adidas Hardwood Championship Series. This tournament included AAU teams from Easy Street, Prospects, and Urban Impact. Also, across the border in Wheeling, West Virginia, the Big Shots Global Tri-State May Madness Tournament took place with two other Urban Impact teams participating in their event. Then in Canonsburg, PA the Pittsburgh AAU Super Regional included a BSA Select Squad, and not far away in Greensburg, PA the Legendz Jamfest hosted an event with their Legendz Team.
Overall, it was an extremely busy weekend for some AAU Programs from the Pittsburgh Area. After watching games live or on Baller TV we at Prep Hoops PA gathered a wealth of information on players across these quality organizations. Also, speaking to coaches, following apps, and locating websites more material became available to provide you with input for the basketball players that continue to perform at a high level during these AAU tournaments.

Devin Carney Devin Carney 6'1" | CG Butler | 2022 State PA / 6’1 Combo Guard / Butler High School / PK Flash
An extremely talented player with the ability to score at any time during a game. His recruitment is elevating throughout the spring with many division 1 offers, as the summer moves forward he definitely will continue to shine. Devin is a proven, developed, and polished student-athlete.
Gavin Cote / 6’3 Guard-Forward / Peters Township High School / PK Flash
He has the skill set to become an elite player and his stock is rising every weekend. His size is not only a match-up problem on the perimeter, but he can take the smaller guards in the post offensively. Gavin always wants the ball in his hands when the game is on the line.
Ryan Lang Ryan Lang 6'2" | CG Knoch | 2022 State PA / 6’1 Shooting Guard / Knoch High School / PK Flash
A high basketball IQ performer with deadly shooting range from long distance. He is a leader on and off the floor for his team and always looks to get his teammates involved throughout a contest. Ryan has more college coaches showing interest while he plays for the PK Flash organization.
Markus Frank Markus Frank 6'5" | PF Quaker Valley | 2022 State PA / 6’5 Forward / Quaker Valley High School / Prospects
This athletic forward runs the floor with quickness and the ability to finish on the break at the rim. In the half-court set his movement without the ball frees him to score in the post of on the wing. Markus is an outstanding rebounder, especially on the offensive end of the floor.
Adou Thiero Adou Thiero 6'4" | CG Quaker Valley | 2022 State PA / 6’3 Combo Guard / Quaker Valley High School / Prospects
Despite being in the process of rehabilitating a knee injury, this overall talented player needs to be recognized during AAU season. He is one of the top guards in the area and once fully recovered his college recruitment will continue to rise. Adou comes from a family of high-level basketball players and now it is his turn to keep the tradition.
Ernie Greer / 6’0 Guard / Aliquippa High School / Prospects
An underrated hooper with the athleticism and skills to provide a spark for his team. He is the ultimate team player who always puts defense first, which is a rarity in today’s game. Ernie will be a definite division 3 or junior college player by the time his career comes to an end.
Kevaughn Price Kevaughn Price 6'3" | SG Bishop Canevin | 2022 State PA / 6’1 Guard / Bishop Canevin High School / Urban Impact
He is a high motor basketball player that can cause havoc on the offensive end of the court with his quickness and skillset. As for the defensive end, his active hands and jumping ability make him a nightmare to try and score on in the half-court set. Kevaughn always looks to improve his game with his strong work ethic.
Corey Simmons Corey Simmons 6'1" | CG Sto-Rox | 2022 State PA / 6’0 Guard / Sto-Rox High School / Urban Impact
A creative offensive performer that can penetrate the lane and dish to his teammates, while being able to finish at the hoop. For a guard, he can rebound well on the defensive glass and push the ball up the floor in transition. Corey is a dynamic player with a well-rounded skillset.
Senique Jenkins Senique Jenkins 6'6" | PF Imani Christian | 2022 State PA / 6’6 Power Forward / Imani Christian High School / Urban Impact
His size causes problems for the opponent on both ends of the court. He can score in the post and slam it down from crashing the offensive glass. Senique has the length and jumping ability to perform at a high level on defense as well. Look for his stock to rise this summer.
Matt McDonough / 6’1 Shooting Guard / North Allegheny High School / BSA Select
A knock-down shooter with an extremely quick release from the perimeter. If you give him an open shot, the word automatic comes to mind. Matt has an extremely high basketball IQ and is a proven leader in the half-court set running plays with precision, that draws attention to him which creates opportunities for his teammates
All weekend these players continued to take their game to another level. Not only did they perform well individually, but some of these young men led their AAU teams to championships. If you get a chance please check them out on the AAU scene this spring/summer.
