The 2021 season has begun and this first week, we had the opportunity to attend seven games in six days. It was great just being in the gym and seeing kids compete for their high school teams for the first time in over a year. Here’s a look at some of the top performers we saw in Week 1.

Lamar Washington Lamar Washington 6'4" | SG Jefferson | 2022 State #163 Nation OR (2022 Jefferson)

Washington is our pick for player of the week - if only because of his sizzling 52-point performance against Wells on Friday. The 6-foot-4 point guard had his stroke going from three-point range, hitting nine threes, but also did the job by grabbing 11 boards and dishing out seven assists. Washington also scored 22 points at Jesuit in the season opener. We picked Washington as our pre-season 6A Player of the Year and everything so far is confirming our selection.

Marquis Cook Marquis Cook 6'6" | SF Jefferson | 2023 State #27 Nation OR (2023 Jefferson)
