Take a gander at the players both PrepHoopsTN and presumably college recruiters will be watching. NOTE: College coaches can not watch in-person until July, but PrepHoopsTN will be on the sidelines throughout.
Any statistics listed within are from the 2020-2021 high school season.
2023 Blue Cain Blue Cain 6'4" | SG IMG Academy | 2023 State #102 Nation FL , Knoxville Catholic/ BMaze 16u (15.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals, 0.4 blocks, 57 FTM)
Fortuitously PrepHoopsTN was able to evaluated Blue at a very young age. Credit both Blue and his family for competing at our PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine back in 2019. He barely made the All-Star Game, despite playing against players 2-3 years older than him. What landed him in that exclusive game at the tail-end of the event was his shooting touch and smoothness coming out of the dribble. In the intervening years Blue improved his explosion through both training and the natural physical maturing. He elevated his grit and toughness in traffic. Blue improved his rebounding hunger and also capability.
2023 Camden Andrews, Hamilton Heights Christian Academy/ UA Rise PSB-Nashville 16u (4.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 10 3ptM)
The shiny, new toy available to HHCA Head Coach Steve Cook is Camden Andrews. Because the team featured several senior guards, Camden did not get to put his full repertoire on display this past winter. With UA-Rise team PSB Nashville 16u, Camden absolutely performs his wizardry. ““Camden Andrews played up with us (17u) tonight,” shared Coach Will Harris Sunday night. “He goes to Hamilton Heights. Really crafty finisher in the lane. Working on his outside shot. Really good from the stripe. Plus defender at his size. Knows how to run the team. Jacobi Wood Jacobi Wood 6'2" | PG Cleveland | 2020 State #411 Nation TN has been helping me out this summer. He has been mentoring him a bit.”
Camden utilizes his upper body strength expertly. He can fend off bigger defenders while penetrating and looking, scanning. Andrews stands 6-foot-0 and fending off defenders is mandatory for his career aspirations to come true. Both this summer and the upcoming winter will Camden Andrews projects to one of the biggest breakout players in Tennessee.
2023 Nehemiah Holmes, Franklin Road Academy / UA Rise PSB-Nashville 16u
Nehemiah gives PSB and his high school team rebounding with the potential to become a potent wing. For now he thrives around the tin.
2023 Jasen Brooks Jasen Brooks 6'1" | PG Cleveland | 2023 State TN , Cleveland / BMaze Elite 16u
Power guard with combo potential. Jasen played some point for Head Coach Reggie Tucker this winter and the team was extremely successful. They advanced to the Class AAA State Tournament. Brooks can defend his position or score in a variety of ways. Needs to become more consistent from the outside. Supremely unselfish.
2023 Kollin Claridy, McCallie / BMaze Elite 16u
Slender guard with quick first-step. His threat is often preceded by an explosive burst.
2023 Eddie Ricks III, Clarksville Academy/ UA Rise PSB Nashville 16u (17.4 points, 7.6 rebounds per)
A lanky outside shooter with ideal wing height and the potential to be absolutely dominant.
2023 Messiah Ward Messiah Ward 6'1" | PG Rossview | 2023 State TN , Rossview/ UA Rise PSB Nashville 16u (10.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 2.0 turnovers, 82.0 FT%)
Messiah Ward Messiah Ward 6'1" | PG Rossview | 2023 State TN is very much the engine of the squad. Gritty with exceptional speed end-to-end. Messiah is a pest with loose balls and scramble plays.
