He also brings excellent energy when crashing the glass and his length and athleticism were unmatched in this game. He also has some nice moves when his back is to the basket and has the ability to finish above the rim.
Jaquan Sanders – New Heights Lightning – G
Jaquan Sanders had a huge second half for New Heights Lightning and was a big reason that they were able to battle back and make it a close game. He knocked down multiple three’s late and also utilizes his floater when getting downhill.
Rylan Griffen – Team Trae Young – G
Rylan Griffen led Team Trae Young to a huge win over Team Thad on Sunday morning and finished with 21 points and five assists. Griffen was unfazed by contact when getting to the basket and knocked down three three-pointers. He also has the ability to finish above the rim and brings excitement to the game with the way he finishes putback dunks and competes.
Jalen Hood-Schifino – Team Thad – G
Jalen Hood-Schifino scored 19 points on 9-14 shooting in Team Thad’s narrow loss to Team Trae Young. He is very efficient around the basket and uses his size and length to finish over bigs. Hood-Schifino was also locked in defensively and plays air-tight defense without fouling.
Ja’Kobe Walter – Team Trae Young – G
Ja’Kobe Walter was a walking bucket in Team Trae Young’s win over Team Thad. He has a smooth jumper and he hits difficult shots. Walter drills shots with defender’s hands in his face and hits leaning jumpers with ease. His range also extends multiple feet beyond the three-point line and he has good hands defensively.
Tyler Byrd – Team Thad – G
Tyler Byrd is a fierce competitor that gives his all on both ends of the floor. Byrd shot 3-3 from downtown against Team Trae Young and also pulled five rebounds. He shoots best off the catch and he anticipates passes well which leads to steals for him and his teammates.
