Boo Williams Soars Past L & L Running Rebels
It was a balance attack for Boo Williams as they opened Southern Jam Fest with a dominating victory with a score of 97-49. 2022s Kanye Clary Kanye Clary 5'11" | PG Massanutten | 2022 State VA and Efrem ‘Butta’ Johnson Efrem ‘Butta’ Johnson 6'4" | NA lbs | SG Grissom | 2022 State #NA Nation AL continue to lead the show for them and will be crucial for how good Boo can go in this tournament. 2022 DJ Campbell also impressed a lot and showed his ability to score the ball well as he is one of the quicker guards on Boo Williams.
Trey Thomas Trey Thomas 6'3" | PG Wise | 2022 MD Impresses
2022 Trey Thomas Trey Thomas 6'3" | PG Wise | 2022 MD has always been known as a highly skilled guard and that was on full display Friday evening as he helped Team Melo secure a win against a gritty Team Choo from Baltimore. Thomas was impossible to stop in transition finishing strong above the rim on multiple occasions. Thomas also showed a consistent jump shot from deep. Thomas informed me after the game that he will be taking an unofficial visit to West Virginia during the first week of June.
Deon Perry Deon Perry 5'8" | PG Mt. Carmel | 2022 State MD Was Dishing Out Dimes
I am not sure how many assists Perry finished with but the lead guard for Melo was doing what he does best in passing the rock all throughout the game for Team Melo. He had some impressive alley oop passes to Cameorn Whitmore that were placed perfectly from Whitmore to go up and catch. If Melo wants to make a run at Southern Jam Fest, Perry will need to continue his good lead guard skills that he showed Friday evening.
Emoni Bates Joins Team Final
The biggest storyline coming into Southern Jam Fest was that Emoni Bates was joining up with Team Final and he did not disappoint. Offensively, he is one of the more gifted players that I have seen while covering grassroots basketball and this is just going to make Team Final that much stronger as they were already regarded as the number one AAU team in the country.
Jack Vander Woude Steals The Show
2022 Jack Vander Woude had the performance of the night at Southern Jam Fest. Vander Woude plays for VA Playmakers and led them in a very close game against Team Final that finished with a final score of 97-82 but was actually a lot closer than the score indicated. Vander Woude had six three’s in the first half for VA Playmakers and finished the first half with a buzzer beater. If this event was a live period event, it was a type of performance that would have landed him three offers by the time he went to sleep Friday night. He was the catalyst for a VA Playmakers team that was a heavyn underdog that had the number one team in the country on their toes all game Friday night.
