The Southern Jam fest is one of the East Coast’ premiere spring circuit events and features exceptional competition. The results of those high level regional and national match-ups produced some shuffling within our Top 10 rankings.
Below is the sixth edition of the Spring 2021 southeastern Pennsylvania’s 15U grassroots teams Top 10 rankings.
- Team Final EYBL: After going 3-1 at the Southern Jam Fest, the No. 1 team in our rankings is now 10-2 in their last twelve games. Their only loss this past weekend came in the 16U semifinals at the hands of eventual champion Team Takeover EYBL. In that game Robert Wright III Robert Wright III 6'0" | PG Montverde Academy (FL) | 2024 State #35 Nation FL capped an outstanding individual weekend by scoring 22 points and dishing out 9 dimes. Thomas Sorber also turned heads this past weekend.
- Philly Pride National UAA: Coming of a “bye” weekend and several days of practice sessions, Philly Pride National headed to the Southern Jam Fest locked in. Unfortunately then ran into Team Final EYBL in the quarterfinals and got sent packing (2-1). However this group in now 6-1 over their last 7 contests. Ultra-quick guard Ty Burton Ty Burton 5'10" | PG Moravian Prep | 2024 State NC was absolutely amazing with is ability to score at the rim. Burton’s backcourt mate Ryan Williams Ryan Williams 6'3" | SG Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA played solid as well. Big man Matt Gilhool Matt Gilhool 6'10" | C Long Island Lutheran | 2024 #254 Nation NY was a force on the inside and had a break out weekend.
- K-Low Elite: Rested and ready to roll after a “bye” weekend, K-Low’s premier 15U squad traveled to the UA House in Baltimore for an event with other UAA circuit teams. They lost to national powerhouse Team Thrill, but secured a win over the DMV Stags. Darren Williams Darren Williams 6'4" | SG Archbishop Ryan | 2024 State PA excelled down in Baltimore. Touari “Deuce” Ketner Touari “Deuce” Ketner 6'7" | PF Bonner-Prendergast | 2024 State PA was also impressive. This group is now 5-2 in their last 7 games.
- Team Final Red HGSL: This injury riddled TFR squad had to add five new players to their roster so they could travel down I-95 and play in the Southern Jam Fest. Adding that many new faces prior to a marquee event typically doesn’t go well and that held true for TFR (1-2). The highlight of their weekend was a tremendous 26 point effort by Jake West Jake West 6'1" | PG William Penn Charter | 2025 State #193 Nation PA against Team Loaded Virginia 3SSB. With multiple bigs sidelined, David Fridia David Fridia 6'6" | PF Allentown Central Catholic | 2024 State PA was a one man show on the interior.
- Philly Revolution: The Revolution traveled to the Southern Jam Fest and found tough sledding on the national scene (1-2). They lost their opener to the Virginia Playmakers on a buzzer beater. Their inability to recover mentally from that disappointment led to another loss on Saturday. However, Jalil Bethea Jalil Bethea 6'4" | SG Archbishop Wood | 2024 State #5 Nation PA , Josh Reed and company did win their final game by 23 points. The Revolution will look for a better outing at the Big Shots/Team Final Event on June 5th & 6th.
