Continue ReadingThis past weekend at tournaments such as the Big Shots / Philly Pride event (Oaks, PA) and the E3 Challenge (King of Prussia, PA pitted southeastern Pennsylvania’ 15U (2024) grassroots squads against some of the best regional competition on the circuit.
In fact, a number of our ranked teams tipped off against each other. Obviously in those contests, somebody had to go home with a loss. So there is movement within the top five spots of our rankings and this week a new team cracks the Top 10.
Below is the fourth edition of the Spring 2021 southeastern Pennsylvania’s 15U grassroots teams Top 10 rankings.
- Team Final EYBL: The No. 1 team in our rankings had a “bye” last weekend. Team Final EYBL is 5-1 in their last six game and features a roster loaded with DI prospects including Class of 2024 standouts like Robert Wright III Robert Wright III 6'0" | PG Montverde Academy (FL) | 2024 State #35 Nation FL , Moses Hipps Moses Hipps 6'4" | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ and Mike “Deuce” Jones. They will be back in action May 15th at Team Final Day at the Grail Sports Complex in Wilmington, DE.
- Philly Pride National UAA: At the Big Shots / Philly Pride event this deep and skilled squad went 4-0 and won the 15U championship (pic above). Fazl Oshodi Fazl Oshodi 6'3" | CG Friends Central | 2024 State PA was named age group MVP. Ryan Williams Ryan Williams 6'3" | SG Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA posted a huge weekend. Reggie Selden, Jr. had a breakout showing.
- Team Final Red HGSL: After two weekends in a row off, Jake West Jake West 6'1" | PG William Penn Charter | 2025 State #193 Nation PA , David Fridia David Fridia 6'6" | PF Allentown Central Catholic | 2024 State PA and Team Final Red should be well rested for Team Final Day on May 15th at the Grail Sports Complex in Wilmington, DE.
- K-Low Elite : Balling at the Big Shots / Philly Pride tournament, K-Low Elite amassed a 3-1 record. Their only loss came at the hands of Philly Pride National in the 15U championship game. Reid Belcher continues to play well this spring. 6’5” wing player Pearse McGuinn Pearse McGuinn 6'8" | PF Cardinal O'Hara | 2024 State PA was lethal from the perimeter on Saturday and Sunday. Darren Williams really turned some heads.
- Philly Revolution: After two weekends off, the Revolution were back on the court at the Big Shots / Philly Pride tourney. They went 2-1 and lost in the semis to K-Low Elite . In that loss turnover issues (20+) killed them. Jalil Bethea Jalil Bethea 6'4" | SG Archbishop Wood | 2024 State #5 Nation PA averaged 17.5 ppg. over the weekend. Josh Reed had a great showing at this event. Joe Shields Joe Shields 6'0" | CG LaSalle CHS | 2024 State PA posted 16 points in the semis loss.
