2022 Daniel Skillings Daniel Skillings 6'5" | SG Roman Catholic | 2022 State PA of Philly Pride and Roman Catholic has had an impressive start to the AAU season helping lead Philly Pride in numerous events so far this spring. Skillings is a 6’6 prospect that can play at the two guard spot or can slide into the three position. Skillings briefly touched on his game.
“I always want to be able to get my teammates involved. I can also drive to the basket as I always am trying to stay aggressive.”
Skillings was looking forward to a big junior season at Roman Catholic but unfortunately that was cut short because of the pandemic but now he is trying to get past that and focus on what he can control.
“The past few months have been rough. I was looking forward to having a big season this year. We were going to have a really big national schedule this year but due to covid that messed up a lot of stuff. It hurt a lot of my teammates who are trying to get looks in college but at the end of the day I can’t worry about that anymore. I have to keep on getting in the gym and keep working.”
He has been one of the leaders for Philly Pride this spring and will play a pivotal role in helping them win the UAA Championship later on this summer.
“I want to win. That is all I focus on at the moment, I just want to win. I want to get better everyday. My teammates and I want to put a name out for eachother since a lot of us could not really play this season. But now that they are allowing us to play again, it is time to show everybody what we can do.”
A slew of schools are keeping tabs on Skillings and recruiting him at the moment. When we asked him who he is hearing from the most, he said, “La Salle, Albany, Clemson, Bucknell, Princeton, Temple, Elon, Iona and Drexel.”
He was able to break down two of those schools for us.
La Salle: “La Salle is a really good school. I have heard a lot about them and I have read a lot about them. They have had some great players that have made it far and made it overseas. They are a really good program.”
Albany: “I know that it is a very good academic school. They are a very good program and they care about their student athletes a lot. They do whatever they need to do to take care of the players there.”
