Brandon Miller Brandon Miller 6'8" | SF Cane Ridge | 2022 State #18 Nation TN (Cane Ridge) Ranked #1 in TN
2022, SG, 6-foot-8
News: Brandon Miller Brandon Miller 6'8" | SF Cane Ridge | 2022 State #18 Nation TN is setting official visits. He will visit Tennessee next week. Auburn will get a visit. Kentucky too.
Andrew’s Angle: Brandon Miller Brandon Miller 6'8" | SF Cane Ridge | 2022 State #18 Nation TN can select any college program he wants. Ole Miss, Auburn, Tennessee, Kansas, Kentucky, and Louisville are the primary pursuers. He might even get some of that push from G League Ignite. Miller’s loyalty to Cane Ridge is noteworthy in that he was certainly pursued by many prep schools and basketball factories the last two years. His mother shared with PrepHoopsTN that Brandon loved/loves Cane Ridge and saw no reason to leave. In fact, his recruitment did not suffer at all and he took his team to the TSSAA State Tournament this past spring. The SEC certainly has a strong foundation recruiting him. It will be interesting to see if any programs can come in late. Probably not.
Chandler Jackson Chandler Jackson 6'5" | CG Christian Brothers | 2022 State #87 Nation TN (Christian Brothers / Team Thad ) Ranked #2 in TN
2022, PG, 6-foot-4, Team Thad
News: Chandler will take an official visit to Auburn “at the end of June.”
Andrew’s Angle: Chandler maintains offers from Vanderbilt, Creighton, Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Alabama, TCU, Memphis, Ohio , St. John’s, Texas. He is a high-character guy who will not only help a D1 basketball team, but also his university. I think he will double his offer list in the next two months and be able to pick between about 20 programs.
DJ Potts-Heard (Cookeville)
2022, G, 6-foot-1, Cookeville
News: DJ is transferring into Tennessee, joining the young and talented Cookeville High program. UT Arlington and Lipscomb have made some contact with Potts-Heard. He plays with Team Forrest AAU.
Andrew’s Angle: Cookeville boasted two of the best 2024’s in the state. Potts-Heard adds a new weapon to the program.
Gus Davenport Gus Davenport 6'5" | SG Cannon County | 2022 State TN (Cannon County) Ranked #49 in TN
2022, SG, 6-foot-4
News: Gus picked up an elite camp invite from Penn. The first week in June, Gus will elite camp at Tennessee Tech.
Andrew’s Angle: Gus is a talented, volume-scorer. He has been starting and dominating since his sophomore season with Cannon County. In fact, he made All-District the last two seasons. His recruitment is in the fledgling stages and elite camps are going to be a great path to expand his footprint in colleges regionwide.
J.J. Wheat J.J. Wheat 6'0" | PG Clarksville | 2022 State TN (Clarksville) Ranked #19 in TN
2022, PG, 5-foot-11, Clarksville
News: J.J. Wheat J.J. Wheat 6'0" | PG Clarksville | 2022 State TN discussed his college recruiting in-person over Memorial Day weekend.
Andrew’s Angle: JJ Wheat is probably the most underappreciated recruit in middle Tennessee. Wheat is a monster in the lane, despite standing around 6-foot-0. He can shoot decently from range. Hits free throws. Wheat’s impact in the open floor and around loose balls is whimsical. A true warrior. Elite quickness in the hands and feet. The recruitment of Wheat is far, far below what is deserves to be based on his accomplishments and talent. I think he will pop big in the next three months. Ohio Valley Conference is my floor for J.J. Murray State, Morehead State, Austin Peay…they will all offer, I anticipate.

Luke Lentz Luke Lentz 5'10" | SG Webb School Knox | 2022 State TN (Webb Knoxville) Ranked #94 in TN
2022, G, 5-foot-11
News: Luke Lentz Luke Lentz 5'10" | SG Webb School Knox | 2022 State TN verbally committed to Anderson University in South Carolina.
Andrew’s Angle: Honestly, this commitment felt a little early. Luke probably could have added a handful more offers, but he told me he is 100% and the commit is the end of it. When you find a home, then you might as well jump at the chance. Luke was a capable role player for another great Webb (Knoxville) team this past season. His ability to spread the floor is certainly the most marketable skill he offers.
