Will the following prospects take advantage? Take a look at part one by clicking here.
Here are some key players who could make the most of it…part two.
Johaun Myles – McArthur
Myles is a prospect I have liked since watching him in practice and in games for McArthur (Hollywood). The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 7.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists as junior for the Mustangs. Moreover, he scored in double-figures in eight games. All of those numbers should go up with the loss of talented 2021’s Javen Bailey (17.5 ppg) and Isaiah Gissendanner Isaiah Gissendanner 5'11" | SG McArthur | 2021 State FL (7.8 ppg). Myles has great vision for a point guard and makes the right reads. I like his ability to drive and kick out to an open teammate on the wing/corner. I think the flow of the game comes to him and he executes off of it. Myles tallied four or more assists in ten games. In addition, he has the athleticism to take it himself and finish clean or through contact. I like Myles’ dribble drive and maneuvering in the lane during these moments. He can also use his length to crash on the glass. Myles grabbed an impressive 86 rebounds. Check out his junior season highlights by clicking here.
Anthony Floyd Anthony Floyd 5'7" | CG Hallandale | 2023 FL – Mater Lakes Academy
Floyd is a prospect I recall being impressed with as a freshman when he played a strong Stranahan team. He showed flashes of potential that night playing for the Bears. Floyd finished his sophomore season after battling some injuries that had him in/out of the lineup. The 5-foot-9 point guard averaged 10.7 points,3.9 assists and three steals while shooting 38 percent from the field. Floyd has very good quickness and a strong handle. He can use his body to finesse his way into the lane and finish through contact at the rim. Floyd will only get better with a little more length and muscle. Still, he plays very well at his current frame. On defense, he can shift and stay in-front of his opponent. That sort of agility is a strong point to his game. Floyd had four games with four or more steals. Against Westminster Christian, he had a season-high 26 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. I think that is the type of player you are going to see next season.
Maximus Fuentes Maximus Fuentes 6'2" | CG North Broward Prep | 2022 State FL – North Broward Prep
I think 2022 Maximus Fuentes Maximus Fuentes 6'2" | CG North Broward Prep | 2022 State FL is a prospect that tends to get overlooked on a very talented North Broward Prep team. You might have seen the offers 2022 Justin Abson Justin Abson 6'9" | PF North Broward Prep | 2022 State #230 Nation FL has picked up in the past few weeks to prove it. The 6-foot-3 combo guard has good size and muscle for either guard spot. In addition, he has an impressive 6-foot-9 wingspan. Fuentes averaged 12.7 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 51 percent from the field last season. He also shot a steady 21-of-64 (33 percent) from deep. Fuentes scored 15 or more points in nine games overall. In the classroom, he holds a 3.7 GPA. On the circuit, Fuentes plays for the South Florida Elite. Gunner Walters – Grandview Prep
What will Grandview Prep be next year? The Pride went 16-3 overall and reached the Class 2A final before falling to Orlando Christian Prep. They are also losing 2021’s Mayke Boles, Pedro Brown and A.J. Gilles. That is over 39 points and 20 rebounds of production out the door. The good thing is 2022 Gunner Walters should be back. The 6-foot guard averaged team-best 17.6 points per game last season. Moreover, he scored 20 or more points in six games. Against Jupiter Christian, Walters scored a season-high 32 points and six rebounds. He has a great opportunity to stabilize this team and lead them back to Lakeland. Look for him to be a team leader as well.
Ryan Richardson Ryan Richardson 6'4" | CG Miami Country Day | 2022 State FL – Miami Country Day
The Spartans are set to lose a really good player in 2021 Jordan Cooke Jordan Cooke 6'0" | CG Miami Country Day | 2021 State FL . The 5-foot-10 guard was an explosive offensive threat that averaged over 17 points per game for Miami Country Day. Cooke also helped the Spartans to a 12-10 overall record and a spot in the Class 3A final four. Back in the fold are 2023 Jasai Miles Jasai Miles 6'5" | CG Miami Country Day | 2023 State #241 Nation FL and 2022 Ryan Richardson Ryan Richardson 6'4" | CG Miami Country Day | 2022 State FL . The 6-foot-3 Richardson averaged 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 38 percent from the floor as a junior. Moreover, Richardson went 15-of-57 (26 percent) from deep. I would like both of those percentages to tick up with the loss of Cooke. Richardson has the size and frame to be a better offensive weapon. I think he will be effective around the glass and join Miles to form a solid one-two punch for the Spartans. Check out his highlights by clicking here.
