Over the past few weeks, every time I have opened up a social media platform video of one of New England’s top ’22 prospects, I have seen Alex Karaban Alex Karaban 6'8" | SF IMG | 2022 #117 Nation NLG working out and fine-tuning his craft with the training staff at Above The Rim Training in Lancaster, Massachusetts. The versatile scoring wing terrorized the region during his junior season at The New Hampton School with averages of 26 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block a game. A monstrous season like this does not happen by accident, and when I view the clips of Karaban’s workouts, it is no surprise that his stock continues to grow exponentially as the spring progresses. In the wake of the announcement that he will be attending IMG Academy in the fall for his senior season, I wanted to go to the Above The Rim facility to check out one of the most dangerous wing scoring prospects, not just in New England, but in the country.
I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate Karaban’s work ethic. The hours that he put in working on his ball-handling and shooting, which was followed by an intense lifting session, explains why he can play at a high level consistently throughout the games. Karaban’s mental toughness and conditioning are on full display when going through these rigorous workouts. One of my favorite parts of Karaban’s game is that he is willing to play with his back to the basket and score from the post. Therefore, he puts in extra time building his upper body strength and endurance to be effective on the block. IMG Academy is not just getting a talented forward on the wing but one of the hardest-working players I have seen this spring. Here are some of the offers that Karaban has received thus far:

- Iowa
- Oklahoma State
- Iowa State
