Easy like Sunday morning, the sharpshooting forward devastated the Tulsa Hawks on MPJ Elite’s last game if the weekend, utilizing his diverse arsenal of skills.
Defensively, he inflated his interior presence early by blocking a pair of shots within the first minutes after tip-off, forcing the Hawks to settle on tries from the mid-range and farther. He also effectively dominated the boards throughout most of the game.
Offensively, the lanky forward is capable of converting at all three levels, knocking down a couple triples from the catch, squaring up to sink shots from the high post, and using his body to outmaneuver defenders in the low post. In the post, he has remarkable touch around the rim with either hand.
Porter is also exceptionally well-acquainted with the tendencies of his teammates, evident in his success in distributing the ball out of the post to fellow scorers. Either baseline cutters or wing shooters, posted forwards or floating wings, Porter’s eyework and overall awareness in the half-court only added to the Hawks’ chagrin. He finished with 16 points.

Within seconds of the opening tip, Hampton knocked down his first shot, a mid-range J from the left short wing.
It wasn’t long after that that the slender, bouncy scoring wing had already tallied 8 points in the scoring margin. Because of the balanced MPJ Elite scoring attack, he didn’t do much with the ball after his early tirade as there was no necessity, instead deferring to teammates during a performance in which each player on the MPJ Elite roster scored a field goal and seven players had at least 8.

Sometimes, especially in basketball, the path of least resistance is the best option. In a tied-for-team-best 16-point effort from Skipper, the multi-talented forward only showcased a couple facets of his game, but that was all that was necessary for him to help his team.
On a score-dominant MPJ Elite team that includes bucket-getting talents from anywhere on the floor, it would be easy to become overshadowed. Skipper, however, though he’s a talented shooter and slasher, mostly scored with two-or-fewer dribbles on his path to the rim, neglecting his euro or spin, and instead electing for more hard-nosed finishes with either hand. He also played an important role on defense and gathering rebounds in MPJ Elite’s win.

Everybody but Parker seemed to struggle early to adjust to MPJ Elite’s size, but alas, the senior guard persevered, contributing to a manageable Hawks deficit through the first half of play.
During that time frame, Parker netted two trios from the catch and another out of the handle, executing Kevin Durant’s signature hesitation move with a defender in his grill. He also finished exceptionally well around the rim considering the disadvantage of his height.
In spite of the loss, Parker led all scorers with 22 points.
