The lanky scorer was back to business in an 8 a.m. match with Team Swish, notching a 20-point triple-double.
Playing just a hair faster than the competition, AP2 efficiently attacked the rim just by virtue of his quickness as he left numerous defenders frozen at the perimeter while he attacked the rim.
The dynamic athlete not only had more spark than his competition, but he also played under control on his approach to score, which is perhaps the most vital part of his game — as was evident in each floater or mid-range pull-up he converted. Additionally, Leslie distributed the ball really well to his teammates, apparent in his 11 assists.
Caleb Leslie Caleb Leslie 6'1" | SG Owasso | 2022 OK | Tulsa Hawks Blue |
6’1″ SG | Owasso ’22 |
Though he took some time to get going, Leslie pieced together an impressive shooting performance in the latter half of the game. He finished with 20 points and six 3-pointers. Additionally, Leslie converted on 6-of-12 triples.
The corner shooter, when he’s hot, is a significantly valuable weapon to the Tulsa Hawks team.
Arzhonte Dallas Arzhonte Dallas 5'11" | PG Lawton MacArthur | 2022 State OK | Oklahoma Chaos |
5’11″ PG | Lawton MacArthur ’22 |
If there was ever a player who could affect a team on both ends of the floor, it’s ManMan.
Dallas, a shifty all-around guard, used every component of his attack to help Chaos acquire an early lead against Minnesota Rise. Defensively, he was excellent on the ball in shorting his man on his way to the rack.
Offensively, it was the usual: knocking down a shot out of the dribble, creating separation to pass, converting on a triple out of the catch and finishing at the rack with his left hand. He finished the match with 7 points in a cohesive Chaos effort.
KJ Jefferson KJ Jefferson 6'4" | SG Destiny Christian | 2022 State OK | Oklahoma Chaos |
6’4″ F | Destiny Christian ’22 |
Jefferson helped to give Chaos a spark, contributing 10 points.
The senior wing has dynamic utility for Chao, often making his presence felt in a variety of fashions on either end of the court. Offensively, he’s a natural three-level scorer with consistently improving shooting talents. He can post-up defenders, finish on the drive, and score from the mid-range as well. Defensively, his size and athleticism provides rim protection for Chaos, while his length makes him equally difficult to take to the hole from the perimeter.
Garrett Goodwin | Oklahoma Chaos |
6’0″ G | Norman North ’22 |
Goodwin did precisely what Chaos needed from him in a 14-point performance: hit shots with knock-down accuracy and defended opposing wings with great adherence.
A steady presence for Chaos, Goodwin’s contribution as its leading scorer was not only an impressive display in a blowout win, but It was exactly what his team needs from him on a consistent basis. When he efficiently scores in double-digits in a non-primary scoring role, he becomes a force that only adds to Chaos’s tremendous athleticism and scoring potential.
Parker Friedrichsen Parker Friedrichsen 6'4" | SG Bixby | 2023 State #165 Nation OK | Tulsa Hawks |
6’4″ SG | Bixby ’23 |
It’s getting ridiculous at this point.
Friedrichsen blistered the opposing defense in a 38-point showcase that included nine triples. P5 was downright devastating, if not embarrassing, in his efficient display. He now averages 34-and-a-half per-game this weekend in Kansas City.
The most striking component of each of his scoring outbursts is his uncanny efficiency, a trait perhaps lost on some of the best sharpshooters at the high school level. Friedricshen shot 9-of-16 from the 3-point line in his Saturday-morning showcase. He simply takes good shots, ensuing on rhythmic, seemingly automatic scoring runs for long stretches of play.
Samuel Hiner | ABC Basketball |
6’3″ G-F | Muskogee ’22 |
Though the match did not turn in ABC’s favor, Hiner played a smooth, well-balanced and efficient game.
He knocked down four triples, including a couple from way downtown out of the catch. His efficiency is vital for ABC as it opens his teammates, slashers, shooter and post-scorers alike, to more spacing.
D’Andre Titsworth D’Andre Titsworth 6'1" | SG Muskogee | 2022 OK | ABC Basketball |
6’0″ PG | Muskogee ’22 |
Though he only recorded 11 points in the loss, Titsworth showed flashes of his impressive two-way game Saturday morning.
Like his counterpart in Hiner, Titsworth is a reliable shooter, but he really adds an advantage to ABC’s attack when he gets his driving game open. A crafty and creative finished by nature, Titsworth had a couple slick finishes, including a clutch up-and-under early in the match.
