2022 Jasper Timm Jasper Timm 6'3" | SG Duluth Marshall | 2022 State MN ( Starks Elite /Duluth Marshall, MN)
A 6-3 wing from Duluth, Timms got off to a fantastic start, scoring 14 first half points in Starks Elite ‘s win over Minnesota Select. He got his day started with a corner 3, showing a quick release off the catch and a smooth, repeatable stroke. He has good length, and he uses that length to make an impact on the defensive end. He got his hands on a ton of passes at the top of the Starks press, and was able to turn defense into easy offense. He’s not an explosive athlete, but he does a good job playing with pace and changing speeds. He’s a good finisher around the rim, scores from all three levels, and rebounds effectively from his wing spot.
2022 Gavin Luksik Gavin Luksik 6'4" | SF Bemidji | 2022 State MN ( Starks Elite /Bemidji, MN)
Luksik, a 6-5 big man, is a hard worker on both ends of the floor. He runs the floor hard to establish good early position, and he flies all over the place on the defensive end. His activity level on both ends leads to plenty of easy buckets for him, off of steals, offensive rebounds or off-ball cuts. He also showed the ability to post up his defender and make a quick drop-step into a strong finish. He finished with 18 points in their blowout win.
2022 Shane Leask ( Starks Elite /Superior, WI)
This man was on fire on Saturday afternoon, knocking down four 3s in the first 10 minutes of action. He moves really well off the ball and has a lightning-quick release on the catch. He gets good lift on his jumper and has limitless range.
2022 Donavan Clinton Donavan Clinton 6'4" | PG St. Paul Como Park | 2022 State MN (E1T1 Premier/Como Park, MN)
Clinton is a big, physical guard who does a good job playing with pace and changing speeds to get by his defender. He’s a talented playmaker who sees the floor well, handles it and is a gifted passer. He uses his physicality to score against smaller defenders around the rim, and he rebounds well from his guard spot.
2023 Tysen Gerads (MN Comets Gagner/Albany, MN)
A 6-3 lefty wing, Gerads had a solid showing in the Comets win over Next Level Grind. He started it off by knocking down a catch-and-shoot 3, then was playing downhill for most of the rest of the afternoon, routinely getting to the bucket, both in transition and in the halfcourt for tough finishes. He also sees the floor well and finds open cutters when the defense helped on to his drives.
2022 Thomas Diew Thomas Diew 6'7" | C St. Cloud Apollo | 2022 State MN (Hustle Hard MN/St. Cloud Tech, MN)
A 6-8 big man who works hard to establish post position, Diew is a willing passer from the block and has good footwork and touch around the rim. He’s a long, switchable defender, and also showed a solid face-up game, knocking down baseline jumpers from 15 feet. He talks a lot on the defensive end, helping teammates through screens and letting them know what’s goign on, and he rebounds at a high level.
2023 Luke Beighley (Chippewa Valley Select/Whitehall, WI)
A mobile 6-6 big man, Beighley was impressive offensively in Chippewa Valley’s loss to Iowa Prep. He showcased some impressive footwork and touch in the paint and a nice jumper out to about 15 feet, including an impressive one dribble pull-up that left the defender wondering what had just happened. Defensively, he is a solid pick-and-roll defender who does a good job showing and getting back to his man in a hurry.
