2021 Tre Holmes Tre Holmes 6'2" | SG Hibbing | 2021 State MN (PM North Showcase/Hibbing, MN)
The 6-2 guard set the tone early on for PM North, scoring the team’s first seven points, and he continued that momentum throughout the morning. He scored 22 first-half points, showcasing his ability to score from all three levels. A knockdown shooter in rhythm, he buried five 3s, and used that shooting ability to open up the rest of his arsenal, blowing by his defender and getting to the rim routinely.
2021 Kevon Powell (PM North Showcase/Ashland, WI)
A compact, 5-11 guard, Powell stood out with his play in the pick-and-roll game. He’s a good ball-handler and passer who sees the floor well. He turns the corner tightly when coming around the screen and is looking to dish to the roller, but he also showed the ability to step behind the screen and knock down a 3. He stays in his stance on the defensive end and moves well laterally.
2022 Jackson Weier (MSP Elite/Spring Lake Park, MN)
The 5-10 lead guard stood out in the first half with his ball-handling and playmaking, and in the second half with his shotmaking. He has a great feel for the game and excellent court vision, fitting passes into tight windows all morning. Playing on a team comprised mostly of his high school teammates certainly helps with the chemistry, and it showed, as he seemed to know exactly where his teammates would be at all times. He knocked down three 3s in the second half of their win over MN Select, showing the ability to shoot it both off the dribble and the catch.
2022 Stephen Kesti (MSP Elite/Spring Lake Park, MN)
Kesti got off to a quick start for MSP Elite and kept it going throughout, finishing with a team-high 14 points. The 6-7 big man showed the ability to play inside and out, knocking down a pair of 3s off the catch, as well as scoring on the block. He came from the weakside for a pair of big blocks on the defensive end, and he also showed the ability to play through him in the high post with good vision.
2022 Sam Kuseske Sam Kuseske 6'6" | PF Rosemount | 2022 State MN (MN Select Mantey/Rosemount, MN)
Kuseske shines with his versatility on both ends of the floor. He’s a 6-6 wing with great length and broad shoulders who does an excellent job using that length to make an impact on the defensive end. He routinely got his hands in the passing lanes, and came from the weakside to contest shots as well. Offensively, he crashes the glass hard, tipping the ball out to teammates, or up so he can beat his defender with a second jump, gaining his team extra possessions.
