The state has shown off a lot of guards that have the ability to put points on the scoreboard. Let’s take a look at some of the Michigan guards getting buckets at Prep Hoops Circuit events.
Matt Blanton Matt Blanton 6'3" | SG Chelsea | 2023 State MI (2023, SG, The Process 2023, Chelsea)
Blanton has a ton of upside as a prospect. He’s been one of the more consistent scorers in the 2023 division of the Prep Hoops Circuit. It seems like everytime you turn your head, Blanton is putting up another double digit outing.
Trenton Boike Trenton Boike 5'10" | PG Genesee Christian | 2023 State MI (2023, PG, Genesee Christian, Michigan Cagers 2023)
A wise coach told me not too long ago, that Boike was a must watch for me this spring. That coach sure was right. Boike will get his offensively, but I really like the efficiency with which he does it. He has the ability to put up big numbers, but will only do it if that’s what his team needs.
Logan Frank (2023, SG, LevelUp 2023, Monroe)
Frank has shown some really good flashes that should have the Monroe coaching staff excited. He showed some real scoring punch aggressively going to the rim earlier this spring.
Grant George Grant George 6'1" | CG Northview | 2022 State MI (2022, CG, MBA Lakeshore 2022 Regional, Northview)
The Prep Hoops Circuit is a place for players to make a name for themselves and George is a great example of this. He’s created a reputation as a perimeter scorer and dependable shooter. He’s a prospect to watch through the remainder of the summer.
Jeremiah Hale (2024, SG, B3 Athletics 2024, Grand Rapids Christian)
Hale has been a primary scorer for B3 Athletics 2024 and it’s easy to see why. He plays downhill offensively and seems to create opportunities with a quick burst of speed.
Kyle Millender Kyle Millender 6'3" | PG Detroit Edison | 2022 State MI (2022, SG, Detroit Edison, Michigan Goonies 2022)
Millender plays at DEPSA, which seems to always have a stockpile of high level wings that can go to the rim and get buckets. Millender is different. He scores from the perimeter and wisely picks and chooses when to get his. Millender will be an interesting watch when his senior season hits.
Michael Morris Michael Morris 6'4" | SG West Catholic | 2022 State MI (2022, SG, West Side 17u, Grand Rapids West Catholic)
When I watch film of a 37 point scoring outburst, your name gets included as a bucket getter. Morris is versatile enough to play multiple positions as well, which parlays into a variety of ways in which he can score.
Charles Turner Charles Turner 6'5" | CG University Of Detroit Jesuit And Academy | 2022 State MI (2022, SG, REACH Legends, UD Jesuit)
Turner showed out just this weekend at Havoc In The Heartland. He was one of the top scorers at the event and carried the look of a go-to bucket getter.
