2022 6-7 C Yvens Paul – For The Love (4TL)
Schools at the next level are always looking for game-changing presences in the paint. While offense from the center position isn’t quite as necessary as it once was, rebounding and shot blocking is always in vouge. Yvens Paul is a defensive specialist that rim runs and finishes everything with a dunk. He catches lobs and dump offs and doubles as a garbage man that cleans up misses. He had three dunks in the final minute of the game, catching two oops in the process as he finished with 12 points in a 50-30 victory. Paul knows his role and excels at it.
2022 6-7 W Zach Everly – For The Love (4TL)
The size and shooting ability of Zach Everly will surely draw attention. Everly can play both inside and out. The combo-forward can post up one possession then play on the wing and stretch the floor the next. Aside from his versatile offensive game, Everly did the little things, drawing charges and making the correct rotations on defense.
2021 6-4 F Blake Bartram – Heart N’ Hustle
Blake Bartram plays a power game in the post. His work in the weight room helps him overpower opponents as he squares his shoulders and finishes through the body of defenders. Bartram showed a soft touch from 10-feet and in and managed to play above the rim when the opportunity presented itself.
2022 5-10 PG Jaiden Miller – Bad Boys Basketball
Jaiden Miller netted 18 points in a 58-57 loss. He’s a sharp guard that is crafty when probing the defense. He slides to the hoop and avoids shot blockers to get clear looks. Miller can hurt teams from the mid-range with sidestep dribbles and can shoot the three. He showed toughness after banging his head in the bleachers and bounced right back up.
2023 6-4 F Michael Wibrew – Central Florida Heat
Michael Wibrew proved to be a handful inside in a win over DreamNation. Wibrew is thick forward that uses a diverse offensive game to attack opponents. He has nice nimble footwork when working the baseline and can spin off defenders before scoring. Wibrew can finish with either hand. He’s a sturdy rebounder but is more than just a banger as he can space out the defense and knock down the three.
2024 6-1 W Berreky Fleurissaint – Athletes of Influence
The exciting Berreky Fleurissaint helped lead AOI to a perfect 4-0 weekend. Listed at 6-foot-1, Fleurissaint plays bigger than his size with his long arms, motor and leaping ability. He’s a nuisance on the offensive glass, able to keep balls alive and clean up misses. When attacking from the perimeter, Fleurissaint gets to the rim in just a few graceful strides and can also shoot the three to keep defenders on their toes. He plays a dynamic game on both ends of the floor. I like his upside long term as a productive two-way player.
