TRAITS: Great burst up the floor and through traffic, well-rounded lead man, comfortable in the mid-range to with plenty of 3-point ability, exciting finisher off the break, good creator with the ball, quick hands on D, posted 30 against Auburn Raptors Saturday.
Jaylen Sturdivant Jaylen Sturdivant 6'4" | CG Hoke | 2024 State NC , 6-3, CG, Sandhills Machine Basketball 15U
TRAITS: Physical guard with great frame, among best rebounding guards of the weekend, finishes inside like a post, excellent range out past the arc, gets head of steam in the open floor and is a handful, can guard 4 spots, 17 versatile pts vs East Georgia Panthers Saturday.
Korea McKay, 6-4, CG, Mississippi Delta Elite 17U
TRAITS: Really good size to slide between guard spots, superb athlete and quick off the bounce, unusual “slider”-like rotation on jumper but it falls from 18+, slithery and creative driving to the hole, good size makes him a very versatile defender, put up 15 against a good Auburn Raptors group Saturday.
Wesley Roberson, 6-6, SF, Auburn Raptors 17U
TRAITS: College-ready frame for the 3-spot, great size and length and underrated athleticism, intriguing variety in his offensive repertoire from well past the arc to baby hooks inside, hard worker on glass, among several on the Raptor roster perhaps the most-college-ready player and the highest upside, 10 of his 15 in an impressive 2nd half against Mississippi Delta Elite.
Cameron Williams, 6-4, PF, Auburn Raptors 17U
TRAITS: Charles Barkley-type as an undersized but very effective lowe post man, uses ample lower half to create space but none of that subtracts from his quickness off the catch, a serious finisher regardless of traffic or double teams, plenty athletic enough to face-up and use the dribble to attack, all of his 11 in the 1st against Mississippi Delta Elite Saturday.
Karmani Gregory Karmani Gregory 6'0" | CG Southeast | 2022 State FL , 6-1, SG, Pinellas Hoops Supreme 17U (pictured above)
TRAITS: His cool and easy-looking 33 pts vs COD ELite Saturday was the scoring performance of the weekend, so crafty and so skilled and so confident, sliced and diced whatever defense they threw at him, tremendous range 2 and 3 steps past the arc, comfortable stationing on the wing or using serious blow-by ability to explode to the rack.
Dre Prince, 6-0, SG, Grassroots Basketball NC 17U
TRAITS: Multi-level scorer but got hot from 3 establishing himself as one of the weekend’s best shooters, used that streak to draw out defenders and then showed off clever driving game, tons of moxie and confidence, not a selfish scorer but wisely embraced opportunities, five 3s and 9-12 from the stripe in tallying 32 pts against ATL Select Sunday.
Jaxon Brown Jaxon Brown 6'0" | CG Wakefield | 2022 State NC , 6-0, PG, Grassroots Basketball NC 17U
TRAITS: Prototypical modern PG with the solid frame, fearless driving, great decision-making, and the ability to score in bunches from outside and in, all kinds of creativity in the mid-range made him an old school scout’s dream to watch, among the weekend’s best on-ball defenders as well, solidly well-schooled.
Thomas Mandell, 6-2, SG, Sandhills Machine Basketball 17U
TRAITS: High IQ scorer and lights out three-point shooting ability, finished with 22 pts Sunday again Quiet Storm, moves well without the ball working off screens, vocal leader throughout the tournament and was a constant motor on defense.
Moses Tufts Moses Tufts 6'4" | CG South Central | 2022 State NC , 6-4, SG, Team Trezz 17U
TRAITS: On a deep and big team with all kinds of skill and athletes Tufts perhaps stood out the most for his overall versatility inside and out, physical and solid near the basket and showed off a pretty-looking jumper, like many on Trezz an exciting open floor performer coming off the break or powering into the paint off the wing.
