While the event featured many talented players, undoubtedly the best part about it was the fact that it was being held in Las Vegas! After almost a year of no major basketball events, the showcase provided an opportunity for local products to display their talents. In this article, a follow-up to local standouts Part 1, we take a look at some more local standouts from the event.
Aaron Price Aaron Price 6'7" | PF Liberty | 2022 State NV 6’7 PF Liberty 2022 (#6PHN 2022) (featured image) – Price checks a lot of boxes. He’s a high motor, athletic 4 man. Price was one of the top rim runners at the event, and showed good hands, catching and finishing around the rim. His defensive versatility was impressive as he showed the ability to switch and hedge ball screens and defend multiple positions. Price is one of the top high academic prospects on the West coast, holding a 4.5GPA.
Sargent Jeffery Sargent Jeffery 6'5" | PF Desert Valley Prep | 2022 State NV 6’6 PF Coronado 2022 (#25PHN 2022) – It has been almost two years since I’ve had the opportunity to evaluate Jeffrey. Loved his effort and energy. A throwback banger, he was amazing in his ability to wedge himself between opponents and come down with the board. He showed good second jump ability, using it to get tough putback buckets.
Anthony Pittman Anthony Pittman 6'0" | PG Bishop Gorman | 2022 State NV 6’0 PG Bishop Gorman 2022 (#29PHN 2022) – Thought Pittman played well. He has an elite skill to hang his hat on, which is his on-ball defense. Pittman made it impossible for Ballhanders, dogging them all the way up the floor. Offensively he showed good paint touch and blow-by ability.
Karson Roberts Karson Roberts 5'10" | PG Bonanza | 2023 State NV 6’0 PG Bonanza 2023 (#14PHN 2023) – Roberts reminds me of a veteran QB that manages the game. He made solid decisions, both in transition and half-court sets. When he got his feet set, he was accurate from behind the 3 point line.
Jack Silberman Jack Silberman 6'4" | SF Faith Lutheran | 2022 State NV 6’4 SG Faith Lutheran 2022 (#51PHN 2022) – Silberman played with outstanding confidence throughout the weekend. He did a good job of attacking on his drives to the basket. Known as more of a shooter, the crafty guard used shot fakes to lift defenders, allowing him to get to the rim. He showed decent athletic ability, getting off the ground to compete for rebounds.
