There are several top prospects that will not suit up for the East in the ASG but there is still plenty of talented players that give the East a very good shot at taking home bragging rights.
Hertford County Guard Daylan Askew Daylan Askew 6'4" | SG Hertford County | 2021 State NC was one of the better scorers in the ENC area, averaging 20 Points & 5 Rebounds per contest. Programs at the JUCO level have extended offers to him as he has plenty of potential and will be a player that only gets better once he gets into a college weight room and adds muscle to his body.
Panther Creek Guard Daylen Berry Daylen Berry 6'4" | CG Panther Creek | 2021 State NC helped to lead his team to a 13-2 record this season, scoring the ball at a high level, averaging just under 22 Points per game. The 6’4 Guard has all the tools to be a special player on both ends of the floor and should be able to make a nice impact at Charlotte over the next few years.
East Carteret Wing Bennie Brooks Bennie Brooks 6'4" | CG East Carteret | 2021 State NC has put together an outstanding career over the last four years, making an impact on games in just about every way you cant think of. At 6’5 with nice versatility, you can play him at multiple positions on the floor which makes him an interesting prospect for colleges.
Westover HS Guard D’Marco Dunn D’Marco Dunn 6'4" | CG Westover | 2021 State #75 Nation NC didn’t waste any time getting going, put together one of the more impressive overall seasons as a junior as soon he transferred in last year. He followed up that season with an impressive senior year, averaging 23 Points & 8 Rebounds while facing all types of defensive schemes. Dunn is headed to UNC this summer and should make a nice impact due to his ability to shoot the ball at a very high level.
Pinecrest HS Guard Bradlee Haskell Bradlee Haskell 6'2" | CG Pinecrest | 2021 State NC is a player that we have gotten the chance to see since his middle school years and he has put together a nice career during his time at Pinecrest. He was a huge reason why they were able to reach the Regional Championship game in his junior season and almost made a return visit in his senior season. Using his skillset , speed and overall IQ for the game, he’s a player that excels in an up-tempo style of game and we feel he will fit right in at UNCP.
Farmville Central HS Forward Leontae Moye Leontae Moye 6'7" | PF Farmville Central | 2021 State NC was a player that didn’t get a ton of buzz but he was a very important player to the success of his high school team. Running the floor, blocking shots, finishing above the rim and providing a legit interior presence were all things he did for FCHS on a consistent basis.
Lumberton HS Forward Matt Locklear earned himself the nickname of ’’ Mr. Double/Double’’ and it carried right over into the season where he made a huge impact for his high school team. He’s very undersized for a player at the Forward spot but he does a nice job of positioning himself properly and outworking taller matchups.
Apex Friendship Guard Kenny Noland Kenny Noland 6'2" | CG Apex Friendship | 2021 State NC was one of the tougher guards that we got the chance to see all season. On the offensive side of the ball he is constantly attacking while locking up on defense without picking up too many fouls. Next season he will be attending HotchKiss School for a post graduate year which will allow him to continue to improve as well as boost his recruitment.
Farmville Central Guard Terquavion Smith Terquavion Smith 6'3" | CG Farmville Central | 2021 State #105 Nation NC took home the Player Of The Year honors in the state, leading his team to an undefeated season and blowing out just about every team that they were matched up with. Smith averaged over 25 Points per game and has put together one of the best overall careers in Farmville Central HS history. He’s headed to NC State University and will attempt to bring some of his impressive scoring ability to the next level.
Heritage HS Guard Lucas Taylor Lucas Taylor 6'6" | SG Heritage | 2021 State #184 Nation NC had a monster season, going for 28 Points, 8 Rebounds & 2 Steals per game, he led his team to a 10-3 record and a state playoffs appearance. Initially he committed to play at Clemson University but eventually reopened his recruitment and decided to stay closer to home at Wake Forest.
