Here is a look at some of the top scorers at the Midwest Grind Session (in alphabetical order):
DeAngelo Dawkins, 2023, 6-foot-3 forward, Team Perry Ellis 34 2023, Life Prep:
Playing up a grade, Dawkins showed an impressive ability to catch and create in the lane. He’s a long and athletic player who frequently receives the ball high in the lane, knifes through traffic, and uses his long reach to get shots off. He’s left-handed, and perhaps that throws defenders off. He covers a lot of ground with just one dribble and flies through the air to hit acrobatic shots.
Jevon Hill Jevon Hill 6'7" | PF Trinity Christian | 2022 KS , 2023, 6-foot-9 forward, Midwest Magic Elite – Hernandez, Trinity Academy:
Hill is an intriguing prospect. He’s long limbed and thin. And man can he shoot. He’s one of the most accomplished 3-point artists in Kansas. He spends a lot of the set offense floating around the perimeter, stretching defenses out of whack. But he’s also a good athlete to get up and down the floor for points in transition.
Noah Reimer Noah Reimer 6'5" | SF Lincoln Christian | 2022 OK , 2022, 6-foot-5 forward, Tulsa Hawks Blue, Lincoln Christian HS:
When the Tulsa Hawks Blue club was behind or stagnant on offense, the team would call to get the ball to Reimer and clear out. With room to operate, the big man could take his defender off the dribble, get into the lane, and get an easy shot more often than not. Reimer has a soft touch, shoots the ball over defenders, and is athletic.
Graham Tawwater Graham Tawwater 6'6" | SF Bishop McGuinness | 2022 State OK , 2022, 6-foot-6 forward, Bishop Next Level Oklahoma, McGuinness HS:
Tawwater dealt with some injuries during the weekend, but when he was feeling well, he was really tough to stop. He’s a big man who can beat you in a variety of ways. He likes to launch from well beyond the arc, but he also can put the ball on the floor, drive for jumpers and floaters, post up and score in traffic.
Fontaine Williams Fontaine Williams 6'1" | CG Derby | 2022 State KS , 2022, 6-foot-1 guard, Kansas Players, Derby HS:
Williams was perhaps the best full-court scoring threat in Wichita. Once he’s got the ball in his hands, regardless where he is, he’s a threat to score. He can handle the ball so well, and has so many moves to break down a defense, it can seem impossible to keep him out of the lane. He’s a tall, strong guard who can just go over, around, and through defenders to get to the goal.
Other top ball handlers at the Midwest Grind Session:
James Locke James Locke 6'3" | SG Carl Albert | 2021 State OK , 2022, 6-foot-4 forward, Team Buddy Buckets OKC, Carl Albert HS (pictured)

Kortez Stevenson Kortez Stevenson 6'7" | PF Center | 2022 State MO , 2022, 6-foot-6 forward, KC Spurs Black, Center HS
Michael Johnson, 2022, 6-foot-3 fowrward, Team Perry Ellis 34, Life Prep Academy
Will Keech, 2022, 6-foot-2 guard, KC Spurs Silver, Olathe East HS
