OFFERS
2022 Justyn Fernandez was arguably the weekend’s biggest stock riser receiving offers from Virginia Tech, VCU, Radford and Norfolk State. All of which just came hours after the event concluded. Robert Morris got into the mix yesterday by extending an offer as well. At 6-foot-6, Fernandez has elite athleticism and positional versatility that is coveted in today’s game. Expect his recruitment to continue in the same upward trajectory throughout July.
2022 Archbishop Spalding/Team Melo forward Cameron Whitmore Cameron Whitmore 6'7" | PF Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State #30 Nation MD received offers from Illinois and Pittsburgh. Whitmore impressed this weekend and continues to make folks aware of his elite athleticism and explosion. High major programs are catching on without even seeing Whitmore in person, so when the July live period comes around, we could see the elite of the elite programs get into the picture with the 6-foot-7 forward.
2022 Team Thrill forward Jarace Walker Jarace Walker 6'8" | CG IMG Academy | 2022 State #12 Nation FL received an offer from Ohio State. Thrill didn’t participate in Southern Jam Fest, but with the recent addition of assistant coach Tony Skinn, who has close ties with the Baltimore area, there is good reason to extend this offer to the five-star do-it-all forward. Walker is already being pursued heavily by a few blue blood programs along with several top power fives, but expect Ohio State to make a push and get involved quickly.
2022 Oak Hill/ Team Durant guard Judah Mintz Judah Mintz 6'4" | SG Oak Hill | 2022 State #131 Nation VA received an offer from Texas Tech. The 6-foot-3 guard has caught the eyes of new programs this spring as Texas Tech is his third offer since the end of April with the other two schools being Pittsburgh and Northwestern. Mintz’s slashing and finishing on top of his defensive production have been evident since taking the court this spring.
2022 St. John’s (DC)/ DC Premier wing Christian Watson Christian Watson 6'6" | SF St. John's | 2022 State #121 Nation MD added an offer from South Carolina last week prior to Southern Jam Fest. His play over the weekend only confirmed to the staff that he was worthy as he put together multiple strong performances against top tier competition. Watson is a 6-foot-7 forward who can finish explosively around the rim, defend multiple positions and has steadily improved as a playmaker on the ball.
2022 John Carroll/Team Melo guard Tyson Commander Tyson Commander 6'4" | SG The John Carroll School | 2022 State #203 Nation MD received an offer from Robert Morris. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard shot the three-ball with efficiency and range over the weekend finishing with double-digit points in the majority of Team Melo’s games. Commander also showed some production and fight on the defensive end, which should add value to his overall stock if he can sustain those efforts.
2023 St. John’s (DC)/ Team Durant forward Amani Hansberry Amani Hansberry 6'7" | C Mount St. Joseph | 2023 State #52 Nation MD received an offer from Kansas. The 6-foot-8 bruiser asserted himself in the paint all weekend while showing glimpses of continued progress in his overall skillset. Hansberry now holds 11 offers in total with the Jayhawks becoming his first blue blood program to get into the mix.
2024 Bishop O’Connell/Team Thrill guard Del Jones was offered by South Carolina, his first offer to date. Jones is a dynamic scoring combo guard that has consistently produced for Thrill 15’s this spring. With a few roster adjustments, look for Jones to become the primary scorer and playmaker for them going forward, which should get him on more college radars.
2024 McDonogh/Team BBC center Gabe Grant received offers from Siena and Radford. Word continues to spread about the 6-foot-9 big man. At this point Grant is still extremely raw as a prospect, but has the instincts and tools to become a vicious shot blocker, dominant rebounder and good finisher around the rim. He continues to make strides in each area and come July, I’d expect to see a much improved product after a productive spring.
