Rumble In The Rapids had a lot of athletes that accomplished their goal of making an impact and coming that step closer to the ultimate dream of many – playing basketball at the next level. We’ll look at some of those players that left a lasting impression.
* This is NOT a best of or an all inclusive list. This is from what I saw and was aware of.
Ashton Atwater Ashton Atwater 6'0" | CG Otsego | 2022 State MI (MBA 2022 NY2LA)
Atwater had an heir of confidence about him. It was almost like he knew he was going to play well before he even walked in the gym. He looked confident in his shot and his passes had that little something extra on them.
Trenton Boike Trenton Boike 5'10" | PG Genesee Christian | 2023 State MI (Michigan Cagers 2023)
Boike is having a big spring and is really helping his cause as a prospect. He flashed a lightning quick first step on the dribble drive and scored creatively in the lane. His time at Rumble In The Rapids was highlighted by an 18 point game.
Luke Davis Luke Davis 6'1" | PG Pennfield | 2022 State MI (United Pursuit 2022)
Davis ended his high school season playing terrific basketball and that hasn’t stopped. He’s an efficient scorer that seems have developed some swagger to his game.
Ramere Draper Ramere Draper 6'4" | CG Wyoming | 2022 State MI (B3 Athletics 2022)
Draper continued to highlight his name at the event, like he has done ever since high school season. He’s a creative and prolific scorer who’s weekend was highlighted by a 28 point outing.
Dane Eggleston (Code 313 2024)
Eggleston showed a lot of upside at Rumble In The Rapids. He does a really nice job of feeling out the game and letting it come to him. Eggleston is a 2 way player with good positional size and strength. His weekend was highlighted by a 16 point game.
Damaryon Fishburn Damaryon Fishburn 6'4" | CG Trillium Academy | 2023 State MI (Hoop Mentaility 2023)
I’ve always ranked Fishburn pretty high in the class of 2023 and showings like this are exactly why. He’s a physically strong guard that likes to play off of contact. When Fishburn starts to get hot, it’s watch out time for his opponent. He had a huge 25 point game at the event.
Shawn Foreman Shawn Foreman 5'11" | PG Comstock Park | 2023 State MI (Grand Rapids Thunder 2023)
In typical Shawn Foreman Shawn Foreman 5'11" | PG Comstock Park | 2023 State MI fashion, the numbers don’t do his game justice. He’s a stopper on defense and sets the table on offense. Foreman picked up 2 game sealing steals over the course of the event.
Brendan Molis (H.I.T. 2024)
Molis scored in a variety of ways. He showed 3 point range, a nice hesitation dribble move, and got buckets in transition. He had a 17 point and 5 rebound game in which he really looked terrific.
Rob Smith (Michigan Goonies 2022)
Smith is a sneaky scorer that works without the ball to get looks at the rim. He can finish at the bucket and showed a solid mid range game. Smith had a 13 point outing over the weekend.
Ian Weller Ian Weller 6'6" | PF Jackson Northwest | 2022 State MI (United Pursuit 2022)
Weller definitely turned heads at Rumble In The Rapids. If you want to talk about improved post players at the event, his name has to be in the conversation.
