The annual Prep Hoops event in Wichita always draws great talent from the host city, as well as Western Kansas. It’s a fantastic opportunity to see how players across the state stand up against each other, and against players from across the Midwest.

Here are a handful of Kansas 17U standouts from Day One:

Nathan Adams, 2022, 6-foot-2 forward, WKE White, Pratt-Skyline HS:

Adams showed off a great stroke from deep, knocking down five 3-pointers and racking up 19 points in a win on Saturday. The solidly built win can handle the ball, play impactful defense against a variety of positions, and run the floor.

DeAngelo Dawkins, 2023, 6-foot-3 forward, Perry Ellis 34, Life Prep HS:

Dawkins showed off some great athleticism to maneuver through the lane for 15 points in a win over Showtime. The native of the Bahamas spent a lot of time catching passes at the high post and using his quickness and long reach to pour in points. He can get to the rim with a single dribble or shoot a pull-up jumper over opposing bigs.
