To play the type of high-octane, up-tempo style that predominated the 16U division of the Grind Region Memorial Classic, you have to have some guys who are lights out handling the ball.

Here are some of the top ball handlers in the GRMC 16U ranks (in alphabetical order):

Adam Beasley Adam Beasley 5'11" | PG Bloomington | 2023 State IL , 6-foot-2 guard, TC Elite, Bloomington HS (pictured):

Beasley can make everyone else look like they’re in slow motion. He slows down to set up defenders before blowing by them with his beautiful crossover. He spins, stutter steps and jukes opposing guards, and blows around bigs to wreck defenses. He can score in the lane, but he’s really good at getting the ball to teammates for open looks.

Kellen Rhimes, 5-foot-8 guard, Gateway Knights, Kirkwood HS:

Lights-out quickness and a brilliant handle lets Rhimes get anywhere he wants on the court. He pushes the tempo and dives to the basket at top speed. He’s got a lot of nice moves, but because he can do them at top speed, he leaves everyone behind.

James Lee, 5-foot-10 guard, MPJ Elite, Battle HS:
