Tyson Barrett (2022, 6-8, Cave Gym Elite 2022, Fredrick Douglass)
Barrett will be one of the top post defenders in the building. He’s a constant presence and an elite shot blocker. Opposing offensive players have to constantly have Barrett in the back of their minds.
DaQuis Brown (2023, 5-10, Overtime Performance 2022, Great Crossing)
Brown is playing up and will more than prove that he belongs. He has super fast straight line speed with the ball in his hands.
Patrick Burke (2022, 6-1, Tri-City Elite 2022, Headland)
The skilled lefty has already had some big games on the PH Circuit and I’m looking forward to seeing more. Burke is a silky smooth lefty shooter.
Ben Canty (2022, 6-5, DV45 2022, Bloomfield Hills)
Canty has always been very talented, but it really looks like he’s putting it all together with DV45 this spring. College coaches may want to get this gifted wing on their radars.
Jaylen Carter (2022, 6-0, Titans Elite 2022, Waggener)
Carter has a nice hesitation move and change of speed. He can use his body well to fend off defenders when he finishes at the rim.
Jacob Hall (2023, 5-7, Hoopsync 2022)
Hall is a quick and elusive guard that stays on the move. He plays downhill offensively and is skilled and tough enough to attack bigger defenders off the dribble and find success when he penetrates the lane.
Cam Karns (2022, 6-6, INB 2022 Elite, Noblesville)
Karns is a well rounded player with a vast skill set. He contributes in so many ways, from scoring to blocking shots. I think that a double-double could be in the works this weekend.
Kellen Leake (2022, 6-4, Athlete Headquarters 2022 White, Sylvania Southview)
Leake is a solid athletic scorer. He’s very consistent and dependable on the offensive end. Leake may hit double digits in every game at the event.
James Mathews II (2022, 6-1, Team Cray 2022, University Prepatory Charter School)
Mathews is flat out a superior athlete in a lot of his matchups. He’s an all around playmaker that could easily hit the highlight reel.
Karim McCune (2022, 6-2, EAT Athletics, Saginaw)
With their perennial superstar missing due to other sports commitments, it may be McCune’s time to shine. He’s greatly improved and has played some really good basketball lately. Coach Dell Johnson will have him primed up and ready to go. Could we see a statement weekend from McCune?
William Mwanza (2021, 6-4, Project Excellence 2022)
Mwanza is a bouncy and athletic 3 level scorer. He’s a 2 way player that can shut it down on the defensive end. Mwanza has a really nice upside as a prospect.
Louie Semona (2022, 6-8, Midwest Basketball Club 2022, St. Xavier)
Semona is an intriguing prospect. He has the look of a long stretch 4. Semona has drawn a lot of praise so far on the Prep Hoops Circuit and should be a very interesting watch this weekend.
Andre Simmons (2022, 5-8, Dayton Elite 2022, Purcell Marian)
Simmons is speedy and quick floor leader. He’s a solid passer, can handle the rock, and is a pesky defender.
