Lee Benson Lee Benson 6'5" | PF Meadowdale | 2023 State OH , Team Flyght 16 U 6’6 C Dayton Meadowdale (OH) Benson took advantage of turnovers by opponent with leak-out dunks and layups. Looking more aggressive in the paint for a Team Flyght squad that went unbeaten this weekend in Pool C.
Javier Ward Javier Ward 5'11" | CG Holy Cross | 2023 State KY , Kentucky Defenders 5’8 PG Holy Cross (KY) Confident PG who can really stroke it from long range. Used pump fakes and hesitation dribbles to create space for jumpers. Ward played at the front line of the Kentucky defenders full court press and gave opposing ball handlers fits. Had a monster scoring game against M 24 Legends in a battle between squads that were 3-0 in pool play headed into the game.
Ricky Minard III, M 24 Legends 6’1 SG West Cabarrus (NC) Had a huge game against Kentucky Defenders, battle between teams that were both 3-0 in pool play headed into the game. Mostly used the right hand around the rim despite shooting jumpers lefty. Shot the ball well from the outside as well. Liked the resilience from his team after being down double digits early and fighting back multiple times before falling in a close game. That contest had a lot of action as the final score was 98-89, fast paced and a lot of offensive highlights throughout.
Gannon Harris, Tri City Elite 16 U 5’11 PG Jordan (GA) Harris was potentially the best defensive player we saw this weekend. Harris was getting steals for days in the zone defense that Tri City Elite was running. This allowed for easy layup opportunities for his teammates as Harris threw the ball up the court for easy layups.
Wydarrious Scott, Tri City Elite 16 U 5’10 PG Kendrick (GA) Scott was on the receiving end of a lot of transition opportunities for Tri City Elite. Scott showed off an impressive float game and offensive feel. Unfortunately the only game we caught of Tri City Elite was a 46 point victory, which wasn’t the best evaluation setting.
