Continue ReadingThe 15U games at the Border Battle were played at Discovery Middle School in Fargo. It was a fine venue with two separate courts. ECI had three teams competing in the 15U division. West Central United and ECI put this tournament on and they did a masterful job of doing so.
In this article, we will take a look at the top ECI players in the 15U division.
Border Battle-ECI All-Tournament Team:
Carter Zeller Carter Zeller 6'6" | PF Fargo North | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-5 F| ECI Prospects/Fargo North – He is a beast in the paint. His strength is unmatched at the 15U level. Carter is an excellent rebounder on both ends of the floor. He creates extra possessions and easy baskets with all of his O-boards. Zeller is a hard-nosed player with grit. I like that he does not back down from contact. Carter will be one of the best young forwards in the EDC next season.
Dylan Zimmerman (2024) |6-5 G/F| ECI Prospects/Moorhead – He had an electric half in the game I watched, with 21 points, three 3-pointers, 3-3 FT’s, and two athletic dunks! His length makes him a versatile and problematic defender. I liked the looks of his shot from beyond the arc. Look out for this long and athletic player from Moorhead.
Daniel Yorke Daniel Yorke 6'1" | SG Fargo Davies | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-0 G| ECI Prospects/Fargo Davies – A pure and gifted athlete. Yorke can score in a hurry. He is quick and explosive. I liked the way he moved the ball and involved his teammates. His quick hands resulted in turnovers. Yorke has the potential to be a playmaker and D-stopper at the varsity level.
Dalton Lamp Dalton Lamp 6'1" | SG Jamestown | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-0 G| ECI Prospects/Jamestown – He is a dynamic guard with innate scoring ability. I was impressed with how often he was getting to the rim. He is a versatile finisher with smooth and physical finishes. I like the looks of his floater/runner. Dalton was able to get out in transition and make plays. Lamp looks to have a bright future with the Blue Jays.
Arrison Throntveit Arrison Throntveit 6'3" | SG Fargo Davies | 2024 ND (2024) |6-1 G| ECI Selects Voltz/Fargo South – He guarded the opposing team’s best offensive player all weekend and did it well! Arrison was a rebounding machine and dominated on the glass. He finished extremely well at the hoop with timely and tough buckets. It was a solid all-around weekend for Throntveit
Logan Conklin Logan Conklin 6'5" | SF Minot | 2024 ND (2024) |6-2 G| ECI Selects Hoeg/Minot – He was always the hardest working player on the floor. Logan rebounded well, took charges, and did all the little things that great players do. Logan had a quality weekend at the Border Battle.
Lewis Jones (2024) |5-8 G| ECI Selects Hoeg/Goodridge-Grygla – He ran the show this weekend at the point guard position. Lewis directed traffic and took care of the ball. Jones hit mid-range jumpers all weekend. He also hit some big three-pointers. Lewis looked good defensively and he was tasked with guarding the opposing team’s best defender. It was a big weekend for Lewis and he will look to build and continue to improve as the AAU season moves on.
