Class A – All Freshmen First Team
Isaac Asuma of Cherry (5’11 PG). Class A’s best freshman is Isaac Asuma. Isaac put together a 25 point, 12 rebound, and 6 assist a game average helping his team win a dozen games. Remember, two years ago Cherry was 0-22 and lost games 83-14 and 105-31 (Cherry won 16 games last year). Isaac has turned this program around rapidly as an 8th and 9th grader.
Dominic Fairbanks of Cass Lake-Bena (5’10 PG). Cass Lake-Bena was 18-4 this year and spent a good part of the year in the top ten. Fairbanks averaged 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists a game as a big piece to this run.
Joe Houchin of Nevis (5’10 PG). Nevis was number one for part of the year and Houchin played a key role. Joe averaged nine points a contest and Nevis went 20-3 appearing in the state tournament.
Kaydin Lee of Cass Lake-Bena (5’10 SG). Lee and Fairbanks are an outstanding pair which is why they were all league players and our co-section players of the year because both have done so much for the Panthers to go 18-4.
Derek Sorenson of Fertile-Beltrami (5’11 SG). Derek scored 17 points a game as the number one player for the Falcons. Fertile-Beltrami went 18-3 on the year and Sorenson surprised many with an outstanding year pairing with some other veterans guiding the program into the next stage.
Caiden Swenby of Fertile-Beltrami (6’1 SG). Caiden stepped into a big varsity role along side of Sorenson and Caiden became an all league honored player scoring double figures on average. The Falcons went 18-3 this season with Swenby playing a big role.
Class A – All Freshmen Second Team
Lewis Jones of Goodridge/Grygla-Gatzke (5’9 PG). Lewis earned all league honorable mention for his team handling the ball and also scoring in double digits.
Gerald Kingbird Jr of Red Lake (5’9 PG). Kingbird earned all league honors with his 10 points and four assists a game playmaking.
Trever Schauer of Lester Prairie (6’1 PG). The Bulldogs combo guard played a mature game averaging 11 a game for a good program that went 16-4 this year.
Elijah Solum of Spring Grove (6’1 SG). The Lions won 13 of 17 games and Elijah was a starter and a key piece to a good team. Elijah scored ten points a contest in a balanced line-up.
Micah Strand of Legacy Christian (5’11 PG). A key piece to a state tournament team that won 20 of 22 games. Strand averaged nine points a contest.
Class A – All Freshmen Third Team
Matthew Danielson of Rothsay (5’10 PG). Danielson scored eight a game as the PG.
Luke Dingmann of BBE (5’11 SG). BBE went 16-5 on the season and Luke scored seven points a game.
Mason Howard of Lanesboro (5’10 PG). Mason scored a dozen a game as the main play maker for an 8-12 team.
Cayden Tollefsrud of Mabel-Canton (5’9 PG). Cayden gave a struggling program some hope this year with his 13 points a game.
Jevan Wilfahrt of New Ulm Cathedral (6’1 SG). All league honored young player that scored a dozen points a night.
