Devon Fielding Devon Fielding 6'1" | PG La Crosse Central | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Playmakers South Showcase
Fielding hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points in a win over Minnesota Magic. One of the best kept secrets in 2022, Fielding is a killer from downtown and buried shots all game long against the zone. While he’s a pass-first, unselfish guard, Fielding is willing to take over as a scorer when needed. He’s also added a nice little floater game to his arsenal this spring. Playing on a loaded La Crosse Central team during the first two years of his career, Fielding’s name hasn’t gotten around the state quite yet, especially after a shortended 2020-21 season. However, Fielding can bring a lot of value to a college roster, including his ability to rebound from the guard position.
Kaden Fosdick Kaden Fosdick 6'4" | PF Middleton | 2023 State WI – 2023 – F – Madison Spartans
Like the way Fosdick can put the ball on the deck and attack the basket. The 6-foot-3 sophomore has a good blend of physicality and finesse. He can pull bigs away from the rim and is quite skilled off the dribble. Once he gets to the rim, Fosdick is looking to go through people and seems to love contact. A kid that plays with a chip on his shoulder, Fosdick attacks the glass hard on both ends and has a high motor. Fosdick is also a pretty good passer in the high post. On a couple of occasions, he drew help defenders and was able to find the open man, rather than dribbling into traffic.
Dustin Derousseau Dustin Derousseau 6'3" | SG Tomah | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Wisconsin Playmakers South Showcase
Derousseau is a work horse and deserves everything he gets. The Tomah guard has a motor with no off switch. His energy led to a ton of steals and offensive putbacks during Saturday’s win over the Minnesota Magic. A strong and skilled guard, Derousseau generated a number of easy buckets by knifing into gaps. The 6-foot-3 junior has a strong frame and just brushes aside contact on his way to the rim. Also a high-IQ player who can fill in at either guard spot, Derousseau just makes the right basketball play and limits his mistakes. Derousseau contributed across the board and has his fingerprints all over Saturday’s win.
Tamarrein Henderson Tamarrein Henderson 6'3" | CG West Salem | 2024 State WI – 2024 – W – Wisconsin Playmakers
Henderson had his hands full with a stud scoring wing for Grind Family and held up very well. The freshman really looks the party physically as a 6-foot-3 wing with a nice blend of strength and athleticism. Thought Henderson was fundamentally sound on the defensive end, playing low and wide while denying the ball and pushing his man well out beyond the arc. Henderson is a little raw skills-wise, but has some tools. If he gets a lane to the rim, Henderson can be an impressive slasher. His outside shot looks good as the Sparta native is confident enough to knock down triples with a hand in his face. There’s a lot of upside here as Henderson should be a name to know in the Western part of the state.
Andrew Kelley Andrew Kelley 6'1" | PG McFarland | 2024 State WI – 2024 – PG – Wisconsin Academy
Kelley had 14 points in a loss to D1 Minnesota Saturday morning. The McFarland product came out hot, hitting his first three shots. A terrific stop and pop guard, Kelley shoots it very well off the bounce. Kelley does a good job of hitting gaps, lowering his shoulder against contact, and creating space for his pull-up without pushing off. Off the ball, Kelley doesn’t get stagnant. He’s a good shot hunter with a quick trigger that doesn’t need a lot of space to get in rhythm.
Brogan McIntyre Brogan McIntyre 6'5" | SF Milton | 2023 State WI – 2023 – W – Madison Spartans
McIntyre paced the Spartans with 15 points against Minnesota Chill. The Milton wing is a strong floor spacer that shoots it well from deep. McIntyre is not afraid to let it fly in transition either. In the halfcourt, McIntyre did a nice job of hitting defenders with a little jab step, getting them to back off a step, and then rising up for his shot. Also like his ability to make shots even when passes aren’t perfect, able to go low or high for the basketball and still get into his shooting motion before the defender’s closeout. McIntyre hit three triples Saturday morning, all of which ripped the net perfectly.
Miles Nation Miles Nation 6'5" | SF Nicolet | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SF – Power 5
A high-upside prospect that’s still just scratching the surface, Nation impacted the game in a lot ways on Saturday against Minnesota Select. Liked the way he used his length defensively. Whether he was at the top or the bottom of the zone, Nation got his hands in the passing lanes and was very disruptive. Offensively, Nation had some eye-opening plays in transition where the 6-foot-5 handled the ball all the way up the floor and got to the cup against multiple defenders.
Parker Prahl Parker Prahl 6'4" | SG Iola Scandanavia | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Wisconsin Blizzard
Prahl is playing some really confident basketball right now. Facing a tough Minnesota Comets squad, the Iola-Scandinavia standout continued his big spring with another strong effort. Prahl’s offensive variety continues to be among the best in the state and you never know how he’s going to get his points. Very active off the ball, Prahl puts himself into great positions to score the basketball and does his work early. He’s a sniper from 3-point range, a threat in transition, and willing to compete for second-chance opportunities on the glass. An underrated athlete as well, Prahl can convert some athletic finishes in traffic even if he has to adjust in mid-air. Prahl would finish with 25 points in the loss.
Amare Posey Amare Posey 6'2" | SG Milwaukee Carmen | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SG – Power 5
He missed a couple of bunnies he’d like to have back, but Posey pretty much got to the rim at will against Minnesota Select. An athletic and bouncy guard Posey maneuvered well in traffic and found gaps that didn’t look all that available. Posey was very unselfish on Saturday as well. The Milwaukee Carmen product kicked to shooters when open and willingly pushed the ball ahead in transition, rather than constantly trying to get coast-to-coast.
Cody Schmitz Cody Schmitz 6'4" | SG Gale Ettrick-Trempeleau | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Wisconsin Playmakers
Really good all-around prospect here. Schmitz scored it at a high level against a fast and athletic Grind Family squad. Already 6-foot-4, Schmitz can score it at all three levels. Might now wow anybody with athleticism, but Schmitz has a knack for getting to the bucket and makes defenses pay when they leave him open as a shooter. Also a plus defender, Schmitz made a variety of plays — getting on the floor for loose balls, blocking shots, picking of lazy passes and it taking it the other way. Facing some good athletes, he moved his feet really well and shut down a lot of isolation stuff.
