Alphabetically, here are the players that looked Fabulous on Friday Night from the 2023 Class.
Christopher Cooper (2023) |5-10 G| MN Comets – High School-Anoka. He is great in the up-tempo game. When the game is going fast, things are going well for Cooper. His hustle was excellent and impressive. His motor does not quit. Cooper is a pest on D and a facilitor on O.
Harris Jackson (2023) |6-6 G| Judah Nation – High School-Thomasville. He showed that he is a versatile player with leaping abilitly. Harris put down a smooth alley-oop flush early in the game. I was imprseed with his shooting from 3-point land in the second half. Jackson is the real deal.
Hudson Vaith Hudson Vaith 6'4" | SG Lakeville North | 2023 State MN (2023) |6-5 G| Minnesota Magic – High School-Lakeville North. This dude can really play. Hudson had no trouble scoring tonight. Vaith is a supreme athlete that can do it all. He does the little things correctly and makes his teammates better. Keep an eye on Hudson, I predict him to continue to play well throughout this tournament. Look for him to tear it up next season in high school ball.
Parker Knutson (2023) |6-0 G| MN Comets – High School-Sartell. He looked explosive tonight. When he wanted to get past a defender he gave a burst of speed and left them in the dust. Parker had a very nice Euro-step move in the first half tonight. Knutson finished flawlessly and made it look easy.
PJ Bono (2023) |6-1 G| MN Comets – High School-Elk River. He was very impressive tonight. The Comets lost the game, but PJ was great. He was the best and most physical athlete on the court in his game. PJ is a beast with a smooth spin-move. I love his aggressiveness when attacking the basket. The defenders back down from his physical play.
Ruhan Jordan (2023) |6-1 G| Minnesota Magic – High School-Eastview. He looked good on the opening night of hoops at Hopkins High. I was impressed with the way he shared the ball. Ruhan has very quick feet, they enable him to be a pest on defense and allow him to blow past defenders. This lefty plays smooth and he can flip the switch to explode by defenders.
Ta’Veon Jones Ta’Veon Jones 5'7" | PG Windermere | 2024 State FL (2023) |5’6 G| Judah Nation – High School-Central Florida Christian. A lefty who played great help D. He was playing non-stop frustrating on-ball D. Jones is great at sharing the ball. He pushes the ball hard in transition. Jones is a spark-plug! He did not put up big points on Friday night, but he was still impressive. Jones has all the tools and has the athleticism to be a special player.
Thad Burns (2023) |6-0 G| Judah Nation – High School-Florida State University School. He was playing suffocating defense non-stop throughout this game. Thad drilled a few stepback jumpers, they left me in awe! He spread the floor and drilled triples from beyond the arc. Burns is a gifted player that gives 100%.
