The top players in this area are players to watch in 2021-22 that could take over all of Class 2A.
Ty’Qun Goodman | PF | Vincent
Goodman is a terrific player at the power forward position. He has great size and can elevate towards the rim over smaller defenders.
In 2020, the sophomore averaged 10.1 points per game and was a key factor into his team’s success. He excels at the rim and can help the offense find open lanes to get to the basket.
Blake Allums | 5-8 PG | Vincent
Allums is another Vincent rising star. The incoming junior is a top notch guard that can score from anywhere on the court. He can drive to the rim and give taller defenders a challenge, but has a nice finish to his layup attempts. On the outside, Allums is a threat from beyond the three point line. Give him an open look and Allums will take advantage every single time.
Trae Butler | 5-10 G | Central Coosa County
Butler is a sensational guard that can help lead his team to a quick basket on any possession.
The incoming senior can drive to the rim or step back and hit a mid range shot over a defender. If given the space, Butler can speed past his defender to get an easy layup at the rim.
Dequalon Thomas | 5-10 PG, SG | Central Coosa County
Thomas is an outstanding two way guard. He plays both point and shooting guard and perfects both positions.
The junior is a great team player and can dish the ball to his open teammates. But when he has a chance to score, Thomas is a poised player that can score from anywhere on the court.
Korey Anderson | 6-0 F | Comer
Anderson is one of the top big men in his area. At 6’0″, he can block shots on defense near the rim and force the ball handler to find another teammate to try and get a bucket.
On offense, he can run the screen for a pick and roll before dashing towards the rim to get an easy basket. Anderson is also a solid free throw shooter.
