Though there are only a handful of teams in this conference, the competition is always close and there is never one, clear favorite that constantly wins the conference title. As a result, the bid to state is always up for grabs and these teams play with tenacity and the desire to make a state appearance each and every year. Continue reading for a look at a few of the top players from the 3A Mountain Rivers All-Conference team.
Jarom Heuseveldt, Teton: Jarom secured the 3A Mountain Rivers Conference player of the year honors due to his great contributions across the board. Jarom produced well on the offensive end with his solid looking jump shot and knack for finishing through contact at the rim. Jarom was a tough matchup at the 3A level and he made sure to use all of his advantages to overpower smaller and weaker defenders. On defense, Jarom plays hard every possession and is a constant source of defensive energy.
Toby Pinnock, Sugar-Salem: Pinnock did a great job of leading Sugar-Salem this season with his size and skill. On defense, Toby held down the paint with his ability to block shots as well as deterring opposing guards from even entering the key. Pinnock used his size to keep players out of the paint while forcing them into taking tougher shots. On offense, Toby was a handful at the rim where he could score over the top of smaller defenders and grabbed a lot of offensive rebounds.
Kaimen Peebles, South Fremont: Kaimen was a solid player all year long for the Cougars. Peebles has the ability to catch and shoot from anywhere on the court and he is always willing to take the big shot when needed. Against smaller defenders, Peebles can bully his way to the rim and finish through contact before scoring easy points at the free throw line. On defense, Peebles makes great defensive reads and does a great job of shot blocking and generally protecting the rim.
