The Bitterroot Mountains are a lovely backdrop for the 2A Central Idaho Conference that is full of high quality basketball talent, evenly dispersed among its teams. This past season, St. Maries of the Central Idaho Conference was able to capture their first state championship in quite some time and will look to do so again during next season’s postseason run. Continue reading for a look at some of the best players from the 2A Central Idaho All-Conference team.
Eli Gibson Eli Gibson 6'1" | SG St. Maries | 2021 State ID , St. Maries: Gibson picked up the conference player of the year honors this past season after leading St. Maries to their first state championship in over 50 years. Eli is a tough guard who uses strength and grace to bully his way to the rim before finishing over defenders with finesse. He has a solid shot from outside and his mid-range jumper is equally as effective. Gibson does a great job of getting his teammates involved as well on any and all plays.
Miles Lefebvre, Grangeville: Miles had a great season for Grangeville and will look to build on his performances as he heads into next year. Miles has a great looking jump shot from deep and he can get hot in a hurry. On defense, Miles is very athletic and jumps passing lanes for steals pretty frequently. He also blocks a lot of shots for a guard and rebounds well against players with more size and strength. Watch for Miles to expand his game in the upcoming season to become a true leader for Grangeville.
Joel Scott, Orofino: Scott completed his sophomore season for the Maniacs of Orofino with an exclamation point. Joel is a great shooter from outside and he also scores very effectively at the rim. He has a solid runner that he likes to use after coming off of a screen and he has a really solid feeling for the game overall. Only a sophomore, Scott has a ton of potential and should be the foundation of the Orofino basketball team for the next two seasons.
