Scotty Middleton Scotty Middleton 6'7" | SF Sunrise Christian | 2023 #50 Nation KS , 6’7 SF Patrick School
Middleton established himself as a prospect to watch in the 2023 class, but he has proven that he can be a big-time player for the NY Rens. The lanky 6’7 wing has a good handle and knows how to finish around the basket. Middleton does not force shots in the half court and can knock down triples from distance. His length and athleticism gives him the ability to defend multiple positions on the floor. Middleton’s stock is on the rise and could receive high major offers once June starts.
Daniel Vessey Daniel Vessey 6'3" | CG Hun | 2023 State NJ , 6’3 SG Hun
Vessey may be playing up for the New Heights Lightning 17U Select team, but he has not let that slow him down. The 6’3 guard has a clean release on his jumper and is ready to shoot off the catch. Vessey can also handle the ball on the perimeter and get to the basket. He moves well off the ball and is an underrated passer. Vessey’s collegiate future is destined to be in the backcourt, but that does not take away from his breakout campaign.
Tyler Bey Tyler Bey 6'9" | SF Fairfax | 2023 #177 Nation CA-S , 6’8 SF St. Benedict’s
Bey is starting to gain confidence on the wing, which is a good sign for the NY Rens. The lanky 6’8 forward attacks the basket with a purpose and loves to finish above the rim. Bey is more than just a slasher as he can also hit knock down open jumpers on the perimeter. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the athleticism to defend multiple positions. Bey picked up an offer from Nebraska in mid-April, which should be the first of more to come.
Jalen Pichardo Jalen Pichardo 6'6" | SF St. Thomas Aquinas | 2023 State NJ , 6’6 SF East Brunswick
Pichardo has had a strong spring AAU season as he looks to make an impact with a good NJ Legacy team. The 6’6 wing attacks the basket hard and is unafraid of drawing contact. Pichardo has a nice touch around the basket and is working on his range. He is tough to keep off the glass and is a good post defender. Pichardo is flying under the radar now, but may not be for long after the end of the AAU season.
Mirko Bramati Mirko Bramati 6'7" | SF Morris Catholic | 2023 NLG , 6’7 SF Paul VI
Bramati is one of the more under the radar prospects in South Jersey, but that does not diminish what he has done so far with SJ Hoops Elite. The 6’7 wing is comfortable playing on the perimeter and is capable of beating his defender off the bounce. Bramati has a good release on his jumper and is capable of shooting over his defender. He is an underrated passer and moves well within the flow of the offense. Bramati is a skilled wing prospect who should start to hear more buzz about his name as the AAU season progresses.
