With as much talent in the class, it wasn’t easy to compose, but we got it. Here we take a look at the newest additions to the rankings list.
Mostapha Elmoutaouakkil Mostapha Elmoutaouakkil 6'4" | SF Eaglecrest | 2022 State CO — Eaglecrest
Mostapha has been on a “get to know the name” tour for the past year, and once he popped onto the scene, has not looked back. Mostapha is a 6’4 wing that fills the gaps, pushes the pace, and was the Raptors most balanced and complete player. He is a two-way player with high upside, and the confidence is growing. He can score both inside and out and averaged an impressive 13.5 points and 6.8 rebounds a game. He grabs the board, pushes the pace, plays well alongside other talented players, and is an elite scorer that can create off the dribble. He’s taken that play into the summer with D1 Force and was a top standout in the PH Live event in Kansas City. It’s his first time making our rankings, and he comes in at No.26 after a huge year with room to grow.
Brady Jones Brady Jones 6'7" | PF Lewis-Palmer | 2022 State CO – Lewis-Palmer
Jones knows how to fit in and allow the game come to him, press the issue with his size and fill in the gaps, but it is a highlight reel waiting to happen. When Jones is unleashed and out and running, he is at his best, and we have seen some insane dunks on, over, and through defenders to start grassroots. For his school, he is a traditional; set hard screens and roll, seal defenders and allow teammates to go score and keep plays alive with his large 6’7 frame. Jones protects the rim, has an excellent motor, has great hand-eye coordination, and goes right up with the ball when he gets it. He put up 11.6 points and five rebounds a game while being the rim-protector and aerial attack. He is an intriguing big man that is turning heads, and we want to see more of him. He is the No.29 player in the class and a top-5 forward.
DJ Johnson DJ Johnson 6'3" | SF D'Evelyn | 2022 CO – D’Evelyn
Johnson is new to the state and made an impact in his first year. He is a high aerial attack who wants to punish rims and showcased himself as a balanced prospect. Johnson is a 6’3 forward that uses his strength, speed, and athleticism to get to his spots and jump over for finishes. He moves well, has a great motor, and makes up for any size advantages. The Jaguars relied on him heavily to get the offense going and put the ball in his hands. He put up 10.6 points and 3.6 rebounds a game and had his moments where he looked like the best player on the floor. He’s a player we have to see a bit more of but comes in at the No. 44 player in the class.
Ashden Oberg Ashden Oberg 6'5" | PF Montrose | 2022 State CO – Montrose
Oberg was the perfect role player and a prospect that knows what was asked of him, and he did all of that and some for the Indians. The 6’5 power forward is a swiss-army-knife and standout that impresses with his size and talent. He is hiding out there at Montrose, as we did not get to see him much this season but made his name during the run that the Indians and played well in in the playoffs. He stepped up in big games and is an overwhelming defender that boxes out, sets screens, and is great in help side. He makes the new rankings update and comes in at the No. 54 player in the class.
