Chris Schlesinger Chris Schlesinger 6'5" | PF Rock Canyon | 2022 State CO is one of those do-it-all types of forwards that you absolutely hate to play against but love to have on your team. He is a high motor kid who doesn’t take any plays off and continuously makes great basketball plays. Chris constantly gets under the opponent’s skins on both sides of the floor and fills the gap and scores. He rebounds well, goes right up with the ball, and defends at a high level. He had moments for Rock Canyon and was pivotal in the Jaguars going on a deep playoff run as an interchangeable defender that made it difficult for the other team to ever get comfortable. Plenty of what he does goes beyond the scoreboard.
Jayden Washington Jayden Washington 6'5" | PF Eaglecrest | 2022 State CO – Eaglecrest
Jayden is a player that checks off a few checkmarks. He’s a high-level defender that can guard 1-5 at any given time, and his wingspan allows him be active in passing lanes while not losing track of his assignment. He can create for himself when other players are having off nights on the offensive side of the ball, but he is at his best when he is getting into the open spots, rebounding in bunches, and keeping the play alive. He has an improved back-to-the-basket game that could use some more work, plays with tons of energy, and is an enforcer that causes the defense to collapse. He helped the teams in various ways and stepped up this season.
Said Mobasher Said Mobasher 6'1" | CG Thomas Jefferson | 2022 CA-S – Thomas Jefferson
Said is a player that makes it hard to game plan for as he is a live wire type of player that just impacts the game in various ways. He improved as a scorer, rebounder, and playmaker, and the defense is what has always stood out for him. This season it elevated as the team looked at him to do more. Said brings toughness and a defensive identity to the team and always seemed to be in the right spots on help side that led to a teammate coming in with a steal or rebound leading to an extra possession. This winning plays translated to him running the break and making plays himself or for players around him.
Andrew Reichart- Doherty
Andrew is a prime example of a player that can’t be judged based of a stat sheet. He is a true team player that excels in being in the right spot at the right time on both ends of the floor. Drew sacrifices his body for his team to make better plays and laid it all out on the line. He set hard picks, was diving for 50/50 balls, and boxes out multiple players if he has to, to create rebounding opportunities for teammates. If the moment calls for him to score, he can do that too but takes pride in going the extra mile. Andrew has no problem doing the dirty work it takes to win games, which led to the Spartans picking up a few extra wins.
Jaiden Flowers Jaiden Flowers 5'10" | CG Palmer | 2022 State CO – Palmer
Jaiden Flowers Jaiden Flowers 5'10" | CG Palmer | 2022 State CO is a game-changing guard with quickness and unlimited range. At 5’10, he is a great rebounding guard that pushes the tempo and can control the game without having to score. This season Flowers proved he is willing to do whatever it takes for his team to win, and he seemed to make big strides on the defensive end of the floor. Flowers takes pride in guard the opposing team’s best ballhandler, attacks as a downhill threat, and can open up the floor as well. As grassroots season approaches, it’ll be interesting to see the role he plays now that his game has started to expand.
