It was a great event where they competed against elite teams/players from across the Midwest and country. The SD Attack teams were challenged in every game, and that is what they are looking for!

Comments from coach Lee Taylor:
“We went down there with this group requesting a very difficult schedule and got it! We went 2-2, with wins over Expressions Elite EYBL and Marcus Denmon. They lost their 1st game vs Kingdom Hoops and last game vs Woodz Elite. One thing about this group that makes them so tough is all players are versatile. They can play multiple positions which makes them tough to guard. “
“ Taylen Ashley Taylen Ashley 5'11" | PG Sf Roosevelt | 2023 State SD and Isaac Bruns Isaac Bruns 6'4" | SG Dakota Valley | 2023 State SD may get the headlines, but this team is fun to watch as they play so well together as a team! Different guys step up all the time and when Jake Wallin Jake Wallin 6'7" | PF Spirit Lake | 2023 State IA went down vs. Expressions Elite, others stepped up and filled the void!”
Players
Taylen Ashley Taylen Ashley 5'11" | PG Sf Roosevelt | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-0 G| Sioux Falls Roosevelt – An electric PG! He has the ability to create opportunities for himself and others at any time…..even against the elite. It is fun to watch him compete on every possession.
Isaac Bruns Isaac Bruns 6'4" | SG Dakota Valley | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-3 G| Dakota Valley – There Might not be a better shooter in the entire state of SD. Isaac can fill it up in a hurry! He is developing his game on the offensive end with pull-up, penetration to the rim, and posting up.
Keaten Bonderson Keaten Bonderson 6'0" | PG Gehlen Catholic | 2023 State IA (2023) |6-0 G| Gehlen Catholic (IA) – He is another athletic guard who can score points in a hurry. Keaton can score it in many different ways including finishing above the rim.
Kaden Year Kaden Year 6'2" | SF O'gorman | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-5 G/F| Sioux Falls Roosevelt – A 6’5 kid who can do it all on both ends. Keaten hit 3, threes in the 1st half against Expressions to keep us in the game and defended guys 6’9 and above. He is a very skilled 3 / 4 man.
Jake Wallin Jake Wallin 6'7" | PF Spirit Lake | 2023 State IA (2023) |6-7 F| South O’Brien (IA) – A 6’7 big-man but unfortunately rolled his ankles halfway through our 2nd game vs Expressions. He did not play the rest of the tourney. He is a load inside who can stretch his game to the perimeter.
Blake Volmer Blake Volmer 6'0" | CG Winner | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-2 G| Winner – Mr. do everything we ask him without blinking an eye! He was the starting PG for Winner this past year and he plays a combo guard for SD Attack. Blake is one of the best all-around players on the 16s team on both ends.
Brian La Roche Jr. (2023) |6-0 G| Lower Brule – He is the backup PG and new to this team but starting to really turn it on as he is getting more and more comfortable playing. Brian is an athletic and long PG who can shoot it and put the ball on the floor.
Reed Rus Reed Rus 6'3" | SG Mt. Vernon/Plankinton | 2023 State SD (2023) |6-4 G/F| Mt. Vernon – He is another versatile kid who plays inside/out. Reed is not afraid of contact and he will do all the little things to help his team win. Rus played PG for his HS team this past year, but he plays wing/forward and plays hard on every possession for SD Attack.
Gage Gasca (2023) |6-6 F| Sioux Falls Washington – He is another new player on this team. Gage is super long. He has the ability to block/alter shots inside on D. Offensively Gage can step out and knock down shots.
Carson Kirwan Carson Kirwan 6'4" | SF Castlewood | 2023 SD (2023) |6-3 G| Castlewood – He is a 6’4 wing. Carson is a new player and getting accustomed to this group. He missed our 2nd tourney so getting caught up to speed. Kirwan did not back down from any player/team the entire weekend.

Comments from coach Lee Taylor:
“Went 2-2 on the weekend and could have easily gone 4-0 but just didn’t play well enough for certain stretches of games. That will be the next step for this group as they improve is being able to eliminate those tough stretches of inconsistent play. That is with most younger teams as they realize the importance of every possession matters especially when playing strong competition.”
“They ended up being down a few guys as the weekend got going. Daniel Mitchell, 6’7 forward, wasn’t able to attend so we were missibf a big piece of the team. But also, during the 2nd game, Nic Marshall went down with an ankle injury and was not able to play the rest of the weekend.”
Players
JT Rock (2024) |6-11 F| Sioux Falls Lincoln – 6’11’ center, that is definitely someone who is hard to miss! He continues to get better and better every chance he plays. JT is a force around the basket which is a given but his ability to step out and shoot it makes him that much more versatile. Rock has a bright future! We are excited to see his continued growth.
Braeden VanBockern (2024) |6-0 G| Harrisburg – His game continues to evolve. Braeden has always been a shooter but as we play against tough competition, he is working on becoming an all-around player.
Isaac Jarovski (2024) |5-11 G| Sioux Falls Lincoln – He plays PG/2-man. Isaac is a tough-nosed player. His biggest strength is that he does not get sped up when teams try and pressure us. He never lets us get out of our comfort zone. Isaac has the ability to shoot it and penetrate to create shots for himself and his teammates.
Nic Marshall (2024) |6-1 G| White River – He runs the point for this squad. Nic hurt his ankle during the 2nd game and was not able to play the rest of the tourney. A true PG that is finding his role with this group. He helps handle the ball and gets us organized.
Jackson Brouwer (2024) |6-2 G/F| Sioux Falls Roosevelt – A small-forward that can play inside/out. He is a tough match-up for many teams. With Daniel not being able to play in KC, he stepped in and played more inside to give JT a breather. He took it in stride and continues to stretch defenses.
Jamin Biteler (2024) |5-11 G| Sioux Falls Washington – He adds some toughness to this group especially on the defensive end. Jamin plays with a lot of energy and they are looking forward to seeing him settle in on the offensive end as he gets more game reps.
Nic Gaspar (2024) |6-1 G| Dell Rapids St. Mary’s – An athletic wing who played his best tournament with us thus far. Big spark off the bench and created so many extra possessions for us with his effort on the glass. When he is knocking down shots, that is icing on the cake and he shot it really well in KC. He is another player who stepped up big in Daniel’s absence.
Jesse VanKalsbeek (2024) |6-0 G| MOC-Floyd – We cannot wait to see him continue to develop his game as he grows. All 3 of his older brothers are 6’6+. Jesse is sitting at 6’0. We see the growth coming and he has the skills of a wing. Once he hits that growth spurt, it will be exciting to see him take off!
Kohen Kranz (2024) |5-11 G| Watertown – Out until summer with a broken foot which happed a few weeks ago
Daniel Mitchell (2024) |6-7 F| Gregory – He was not able to play this tournament.
