Tyler Borowski Tyler Borowski 6'2" | PG Appleton East | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Crusaders
Borowski appeared to elevate his play throughout the weekend and had a really strong showing against Wisconsin Playground Club. An all-around floor general who can take over as a scorer or a facilitator, Borowski had games in which he racked up assists and deferred to his teammates and also games where he carried the load offensively. A top 50 player and top 10 point guard prospect in the state, Borowski averaged 14 points and four assists per game last season while playing in the always tough Fox Valley Association.
Dino Cook Dino Cook 6'4" | SF Kingdom Prep | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SF – World Hoops Elite
One of the most improved players in the 2023 class, Cook has solid all weekend. The 6-foot-4 wing shot the ball very well from deep, including seven 3-pointers against Wisconsin Playground Club. Cook’s clearly been working on the outside shot, but he’s also showing flashes off the dribble. He’s a long, lean kid that’s now tightening his handle, figuring out how to play lower to the ground, and create shots off the bounce.
Tyran Cook Tyran Cook 6'1" | SG Waukesha South | 2023 State WI – 2023 – G – Team Haliburton
Coming off a big sophomore season, Cook was consistent for Team Haliburton. A downhill, attacking guard, Cook gets to the rim consistently and generates a lot of opportunities near the rim. A get-it-and-go guard, Cook plays an uptempo game and has a knack for getting coast-to-coast with the basketball in his hands.
Learic Davis Learic Davis 6'7" | SF Milwaukee Bradley Tech | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G/W – Wisconsin Playground Club
Finally getting a chance to get eyes on Davis, he did not disappoint and certainly adds to an already loaded PGC squad. He’s going to enter college as a project, but Davis can do a lot of different things and is one of the most unique prospects in the state. At 6-foot-7, he can play anywhere on the perimeter, including point guard. An explosive athlete, Davis has some of the best above the rim ability in the state as well. He showed in spurts, he can shoot the ball and create some stuff in the halfcourt.
Drew Edmond Drew Edmond 6'0" | PG Brookfield Central | 2023 State WI -2023 – PG – Kevon Looney Power 5
Behind the scenes at powerhouse Brookfield Central, Edmond is a name that should emerge during the 2021-22 season. A playmaking point guard, Edmond is a wizard with the ball in his hands. Not going to blow anybody away with size or athleticism, but he just has an outstanding feel for the game and is highly skilled on the ball. Give Edmond the rock and good things will happen. He was able to play against athletes, control the tempo, and play drive and dish basketball at a high level.
Jordan Hibner Jordan Hibner 6'3" | SG Monona Grove | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Wisconsin Academy
Hibner was scoring in bunches in Appleton. The Monona Grove standout can knock down perimeter shots consistently, but also has a strong frame for attacking the bucket. Hibner is very opportunistic offensively. He’s not somebody that likes to be stagnant and wait for opportunities to come his way, but instead creates them with good cuts off the ball.
Miles Nation Miles Nation 6'5" | SF Nicolet | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SF – Kevon Looney Power 5
Continuing to show flashes, Nation’s play has hit another level this spring. The 6-foot-4 sophomore is a plus-length wing that does an exceptional job of blocking/altering shots. Nation has great timing on the defensive end. Offensively, Nation showed some flashes by knocking down 3’s and getting coast-to-coast in transition. At times, he can thrive in the mid-range, able to pull-up off the bounce and rise and fire over defenders if he’s in rhythm.
Jeb Nytes Jeb Nytes 6'9" | PF Plymouth | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PF – Wisconsin Blizzard
An unranked prospect, Nytes has a lot of tools that college coaches will like. Nytes is a 6-foot-9, mobile, bouncy forward that can also shoot from the perimeter. Really liked some of the stuff he did in transition. Nytes runs the floor hard and had some athletic finishes on the go. Nytes is not only a catch-and-shoot threat from beyond the arc, but also has somewhat of a face-up/size-up game where he can create mismatch opportunities.
John Pitta John Pitta 6'0" | CG Whitnall | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Wisconsin Starz Elite
A kid that could be in store for a big senior season, Pitta continues to thrive this spring. Kid is playing with an obvious underdog mentality right now. Time and score does not matter. Pitta’s foot is on the gas pedal. A high volume scorer that just constantly attacks, Pitta’s got some serious moves as an isolation weapon. He’s able to go 1-on-2 at times and just carve up defenses.
Andrew Verhelst Andrew Verhelst 6'3" | SF Sheboygan Lutheran | 2023 State WI – 2023 – F – Wisconsin Crusaders
After the Crusaders lost one of their top players, Verhelst has stepped up for his squad. Verhelst is going to make his hay as a gritty, blue collar, toughness player, but there’s some noticeable skill there as well. The Sheboygan Lutheran product is an aggressive slashing forward that just doesn’t feel contact. Built like a football player, Verhelst relishes scoring right through the chest of defenders. Verhelst also shot the ball well this weekend from the 10-12 foot range and can dish the rock from the high/mid-post as well. Verhelst also acts as an extra ball handler and will push the pace himself or make decisions in the open floor.
