10 Players To Watch At Havoc In The Heartland
In this article:
The Prep Hoops Circuit is on the move throughout the country. This weekend, the Grit Region lands in Indianapolis, Indiana for Havoc In The Heartland. There will be plenty of teams with players representing the state of Michigan in the 17u pools at the event. Let’s look at 10 17u Michigan players to watch at Havoc In The Heartland.
Christian Brilliantes (2022, PG, DV45 2022, Okemos)
Brilliantes has been overshadowed a bit by some big performances and improvements by teammates, but we can’t look past his contributions. He’s a speedy guard that can play score first or pass first, all depending on what his team needs.
Aiden Burns Aiden Burns 6'0" | SG Pennfield | 2022 State MI (2022, SG, United Pursuit 2022, Battle Creek Pennfield)
Can Burns continue his spring run? He’s become a well known sniper from behind the arc here in Michigan. If he continues his hot shooting, the recruitment will be sure to follow.
Ben Canty Ben Canty 6'4" | SF Bloomfield Hills | 2022 State MI (2022, G/F, DV45 2022, Bloomfield Hills)
Canty has always been full of talent and athleticism. This spring he’s showing some very real signs of putting it all together. That makes DV45 a very dangerous squad and says good things about the coming high school season when he teams up with Noah Adamczyk Noah Adamczyk 6'0" | PG Bloomfield Hills | 2023 State MI and DJ Lee DJ Lee 6'4" | SF Detroit Catholic Central | 2023 State MI .
Ramere Draper Ramere Draper 6'4" | CG Wyoming | 2022 State MI (2022, SG, B3 Athletics 2022, Wyoming)
Draper has absolutely exploded since high school season and has had one of the better all around grassroots seasons in the state so far. He’s a bona fide bucket getter and scorer. Draper is going to skyrocket in the prospect rankings.
Spencer Feig Spencer Feig 6'0" | CG Williamston | 2022 State MI (2022, SG, United Pursuit 2022, Williamston)
Feig is coming off a recent roster offer from Alma College. It will be interesting to watch his performance at Havoc In The Heartland. A solid performance a high quality event like thids could definitely lead to more offers.
Grant George Grant George 6'1" | CG Northview | 2022 State MI (2022, CG, MBA Lakeshore 2022 Regional, Northview)
George has had a nice spring and has shown a solid scoring acumen. If he continues to play at a high level at signature events, he could make a huge statement during grassroots season.
Kobe Haglund Kobe Haglund 6'3" | PG West Ottawa | 2022 State MI (2022, PG, MBA Lakeshore 2022 National)
Haglund is underrated as a prospect in my opinion. At a very high level, he balances facilitating the offense for his team and scoring from outside. Count his turnovers this weekend as well, because I highly doubt that there will be very many.
Sam Leppien Sam Leppien 6'10" | C Alma | 2022 State MI (2022, C, B3 Athletics, Alma)
Leppien recently made his first appearance with B3 Athletics. This will be his first Prep Hoops Circuit event, and we are excited to watch him compete. The 6-10 post player could make an excellent combination with Ramere Draper Ramere Draper 6'4" | CG Wyoming | 2022 State MI attacking from the outside. Leppien puts another high level and high upside post player in the Circuit.
Moe Najm (2022, PG, Hype Athletics 2022, Dearborn)
Honestly, I haven’t seen a ton of Najm’s game, which makes me even more intrigued to see how he stacks up this weekend. He has the looks of a skilled finisher with solid body control. Najm could really make a name for himself at Havoc In The Heartland.
Jalen Overway Jalen Overway 6'8" | PF Holland Christian | 2022 State MI (2022, F/C, MBA Lakeshore 2022 National, Holland Christian)
Overway will probably be one of the most watched and followed players in the state through grassroots season. Coaches and scouts are intrigued by his power and size, in addition to his ability to get high percentage looks at the rim.
